Weekend Trip to Willowbank

Unreal location with great scenery of the hills and flowing creek. Was a very private campsite without views of other campers which was really nice. Very spacious campsite to setup and relax in. Definitely plan on returning!

Great place to camp. Will definitely be one for us to return to. For the kids: lots of room to run around and they loved all the animals running around and able to pat. The weather was a bit rainy when we were there but the hot spa still aloud us to get in the water. Adult: great beer garnden and pool table over looking the kids toy room that allows you to relax and unwind while the kids play and still able to see them. The owners are lovely and made the stay very enjoyable. Recommend this camp site.

Weekend Trip to The Branch River Retreat

Peaceful spot alongside the river, we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to visit again. Pros: welcoming host, private and peaceful campsite, easy river access for a SUP or fishing or a rinse, safe from any major hazards for our toddler. Cons: toilet far away from site, lots of mosquitos early morning and evening, river is very dark so was a bit off putting to swim in but still refreshing, tent site on a bit of an incline which would be ideal to flatten further.

Weekend Trip to Homeville Camping and Farm Stay

We had a lovely time at Pascales well organised camp site. We had to book v late and so Pascale could not meet us on arrival but she visited later and was most welcoming. She took us to the local markets and we learnt lots about the district and her farm etc. we had to move from campsite 9 campsite which was by the pretty creek due to forecast wet weather but were able to a pin another lovely spot nearby on the property.there was lots of room and privacy and well set up toilet. Would recommend this Hipcamp which is in glorious countryside.

Meredith is a wonderful host. She is accomodating, hospitable and a beautiful person all round. Our stay was the break we needed for the weekend. Private spot with gorgeous views of mountains, farm life, lush green fields and the night sky that keeps you in awe. This spot is a perfect stay with close proximity to mountains tracks, coastal beaches, lakes and much more. We enjoyed camping here that it is now marked as one of our favourite places to stay. Highly recommend staying here if you’re passing by or need a nice peaceful scenic place to unwind and relax.

Camping was great, glad we got put on the area with a really pleasant view, rolling hills and the expansive view to as far as the eye could see. Was a joy to wake up everyday feeling relaxed and refreshed. Almost forgot we had a life in Sydney to come back to. Could have stayed another couple of weeks easily.

The property oozes with old world charm and the scenery is gorgeous. Meredith was super hospitable and was so generous with sharing her family’s land. Our kids made core memories here! They loved it. Don’t stress too much about which spot you pick; they are all lovely. (Just double check on the toilet/shower situation if that’s important to you, as this is a work in progress.)

We had such a wonderful time. Meredith really looked after us (even providing us with marshmallows for the fire!). Such a beautiful spot on top of a hill with beautiful 360 views of the countryside. Cows surround the property (they’re fenced out so no worries about them in the night) but are such a beautiful sight to wake up to. The common room was a great place to hang out in the evening when other campers had gone to bed - we loved playing board games in here! About 15 minutes to the shops and 20 minutes to the beach this is a great spot tucked away off the highway. We couldn’t recommend it enough!

It's perfect for games like cricket, soccer, and football to name a few. The amenities block has both toilet and shower, and there is also power available to connect up to. A large sheltered area, our camp kitchen, includes fridge, barbeque, electricity, kettle, table, chairs and more. Enjoy bird watching, visiting wallabies in the late afternoon, or looking for fossils in the seasonal creek just a few metres away. The historical town of Stroud is only 10 or so minutes away if you need supplies. Karuah River is close by for swimming and fishing, and the Barrington Tops National Park is approximately 50 minutes away. Ride Dungog is located at The Common in Dungog, for mountain bike enthusiasts. The area includes 650 acres offering trails for all different levels. While visiting Dungog, there are boutique cafes and shops, a historic cinema, and a lot more to see as you wander through the streets. Unfortunately we no longer have parties, including 18ths, 21sts etc.

Beautiful River all to yourself!

Our campsite is private, quiet, and beautiful, alongside a crystal clear stony-bottom river, just as it emerges from the mountains. With only one allocated camping zone the river is exclusively yours to enjoy. Camping, fishing, relaxing, and catching up with friends, you have 5 acres of river frontage all to yourself. Located 4 hrs from Sydney this is an ideal place for a weekend getaway, the perfect place canoeing and fishing. Put your canoes in up river at the Kimbriki Rd bridge, and then spend the few hours enjoying the river as the current brings you downstream, right back to your campsite! Or just cruise around on a stand-up paddle board directly from out front of your campsite. Although our campsite is never boggy (even after heavy rain), you will need a 4WD to access the spot and make your way back out again. There is plenty to do in our area. Explore Beautiful Comboyne, the Rainforest at Wingham Brush, the Ellenborough Falls (a jaw-dropping 150 meter falls, with viewing decks & long and steps to a pool at its base), or Potoroo Falls (set is a beautiful rainforest valley), or just head to the beach at Old Bar and catch a wave. Only a few minutes from the local Coles and Cafes at Wingham, you're not to far away from supplies and good coffee. Your camping/van area has a bin, and a camp toilet is provided. Dogs are unfortunately not allowed, out of respect for the working farms to the north and south. A campfire is allowed during permitted times. There is loads of dried kindling and small logs around the property otherwise byo. Beautiful spot to relax, with wildlife and bird watching. Please use bins supplied and leave no trace. Access is by a farm track that can be slippery, and so although you do not require high wheel clearance, you will need 4WD. Other things to note: - Fishing is according to DPI regulations, and you assume all responsibility to do the right thing. - Check-in is 2 pm Check out is 12 pm. - A place for enjoyable quiet catch-ups but NO LOUD PARTYING PLEASE. If you would like canoes or standup paddle boards, they can be rented for $40 per day, and this includes a life vest. A bond of $100 is required to cover us if you lose a paddle or similar. If you hire canoes and would like us to drop you and the canoes off at Kimbriki Bridge, this can be arranged in advance and is complimentary.

The river is a fresh mountain river running from the foothills of Barrington Tops. We only offer 5 sites across our 300 acre property giving you absolute privacy and a sense of serenity We were very pleased to have been recognised by Hipcamp as being one of the top 20 Hipcamp locations in NSW for 2022. Most of the year the river is lovely and clear and ideal for swimming canoeing floating on airbeds fishing photography or just enjoying. There is also some really nice bike riding and walking opportunities around the valley although you will be on gravel roads and we are only 25 min drive from the popular Dungog mountain bike park. You are likely to see a variety of birdlife other wildlife including black and white cockatoos ducks some lizards, occasionally wallabies, echidnas and if you are lucky a Platypus or two. We are fortunate to see platypus in the river frequently which is a sign of just how pristine the water running down from the mountains really is. You will have your campsite completely to yourself with no other camper near you. Privacy, tranquillity, relaxation and just enjoying nature is waiting for you. Be sure to bring your telescope as you’ll be amazed at the stargazing at night with no light pollution. With some lovely Spring rain the river is running beautifully and is great for a swim, fish or canoe. Swimming, canoeing and running the rapids on surf mats is always popular at our property and as long as the river is it normal levels and a lot of fun. However, we always highly recommend people wear some form of footwear in the river such as rafting sandals or old joggers or similar as the rocks are very hard on your feet and there’s a particular nasty little fish called a “Bullrout” that whilst rare can infect a nasty sting if you tread on one. No need to be overly concerned but be mindful. Our property is ideal for self-contained vans, camper trailers, medium motor homes, tents or swags, it’s up to you. There are no toilets so only suitable if you have your own toilet facilities and take away all waste when you leave. All toilet waste, leaving our property is very important and an absolutely essential requirement for all visitors. Public waste dump points are at Stroud, Dungog and Gloucester. Gloucester Dungog and historic Stroud village are nearby as well as Barrington Tops World Heritage wilderness area and national park. This is an operating farm and therefore farming activities such as cattle droving, fencing, grass cutting or hay making may occasionally be occurring somewhere near your site but we would always let you know. We are sure you will enjoy our farm far more than a crowded traditional caravan park or campgrounds. We do have some limited bags of firewood for sale at $20 a bag most of the year. These are heavy bags of very dry local Hardwood. You can also collect firewood along the riverbanks yourself or bring your own firewood for a campfire (subject to any fire restrictions) if that is easier and more convenient for you. When you make a reservation at the property we will always endeavour to put you in your preferred location as best we can. However if we are impacted by adverse weather or need to run cattle on certain parts of the farm then we may need to make a change to the actual site you are in and trust you understand. Located only 8 minutes drive from the historical town of Stroud which was settled by the AA Company in the 1820's as a food growing area. There are still many beautiful buildings from that period to explore. A dairy farm for many years, we switched over to beef around 15 years ago. Currently we run around 120 head of Angus and mixed breed cattle. Wallis Lake is literally across the road from the front gate and can be accessed by boat launch just up the Coomba road or at the Pacific Palms recreational club ( Recky) which is a short 5 minutes down the road. Smiths Lake is only 5 minutes drive away in the other direction and has catamaran and boat hire services close to the Frothy Coffee Cafe, SeaForest Sanctuary sites are 4WD and AWD due to the tracks- some 2WD as long as they have a high ground clearance & depending if we have dry weather. ( I have a small 2WD SUV and it gets around perfectly in the dry weather but I need the 4WD in the wet ). No amenities so campers need to BYO everything they need and leave no trace. Campers MUST bring their own camping toilet... This property is a wildlife/bush sanctuary and thus everyone is asked to please do their part to keeping it that way. The waterways and forests in this area are mind blowing. If you have the opportunity, hire a boat/ houseboat or kayak etc and explore the Myall, Smiths and Wallis Lakes.. Bushwalking trails are everywhere through the many National Parks that surround us here. The property is Dog friendly and owners must be respectful of others and keep animals quiet and contained at night. Goes without saying - please clean up doggie dung and take with your rubbish. Campfires are permitted in a designated area when restrictions aren't in place, plenty of wood to gather your own. Please be mindful that there could be fire bans on certain days during the summer. Farm manager will keep you informed and if the worst scenario happens being a fire warning of catastrophic conditions, please follow the farm managers instructions to evacuate the premises and enjoy some shopping in Forster or go to the movies for the day until the warning has lifted.

Nearby attractions include Chichester Dam and the Wonga Loop, Jerusalem Creek Falls and Dundungarra Falls walking trails. The town of Dungog just 20 minutes drive away has all your basic needs including IGAsupermarket, food coop, cafes, gift shops, restaurants, post office, hospital, butchers, chemist, mechanics and Dungog Common Mountain Bike Park and Walking Trails. Faraway Farm is drug and alcohol free, chemical free and pets are not permitted.
