Or even head down the road to Elliotts Lookout over the Dam for some incredible views! We can even provide under cover boat storage if you want to bring your boat with you for some fun on the lake! In spring, enjoy the beautiful blossoming fruit trees. You can even visit Sakura Matsuri, the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival in Cowra late September! Year round, enjoy the tranquillity and landscapes of the Japanese Gardens and Cultural Centre in Cowra (14 min). The gardens act as a monument of peace and reconciliation between two countries after the largest Prisoner Of War breakout in modern military history. Cowra's rich history can be explored at the Cowra POW Campsite and various other historical sites around town. Make sure to end your night around a great campfire! We have a designated campfire area and complimentary firewood in a wood shed close by. Roast some marshmallows and take in the starry night sky. You are welcome to camp anywhere in the paddock - please note these sites are only accessible on foot, please do not drive into the paddock. Great cell phone service with optus and telstra but not Vodafone. Can charge your phone ,just bring your lead and power plug. Plenty of firewood for your stay from fallen dead branches. The mountain has the origional trig station for the area on top from early 1800s with beautifull views. Retreat Shearers' Quarters

PLEASE NOTE: Retreat is a working farm. For biosecurity reasons, we cannot host visitors who have returned from overseas within the last 10 days. Retreat is a historic sheep station and regenerative farm on Pinchgut Creek, in Wiradjuri Country, on the southwest slopes of NSW. Strategic grazing methods are fostering biodiversity (above and below ground). Creekside revegetation has brought the waterway back to life. Birdlife abounds. Take a walk along the creek, through the regenerating woodland. Pitch your tent under shady white cedar trees, beside the Retreat Shearer's Quarters. After sunset, listen for the mopoke owls, which sometimes call from the branches of ancient yellow box trees. Nights are dark here. Marvel at a sky full of stars. Occasionally, a rare Australasian bittern, nesting in the reed beds on Pinchgut Creek, will add its booming call to the night time frog chorus. Butcher birds often sing at sunrise. The towns of Cootamundra, Temora and Junee are less than half an hour away. Guests have access to two hot showers, a laundry, toilet, and drinking water (rainwater). There is access to electricity, but no rubbish facilities. We ask that you remove all of your own rubbish, as we don't have a council rubbish pickup service. Stay cozy in the evenings around the campfire. Campfires can be made in the cooler months, by permission, and only in the designated fire circle. Tents may only be set up under the old, shady white cedar trees on the western side of the long, corrugated iron dormitory building, with a view towards the creek. The campsite is 2WD accessible and there's plenty of room for motorhomes, campervans and camper trailers. The campsite is grassy and level, but the area can get boggy in wet weather. Please check in with us about the current conditions. No pets please.

Say hi to our resident sheep! We have two flocks of gorgeous sheep enjoying the delicious pastures. There is lots of native bird life to see here, with Superb Parrots, Blue Wrens, Cockatoos, Rosellas, Wedge Tail Eagles and of course, Doves (hence the property name, La Paloma). Wake up to see the mob of kangaroos bounding up the hill. Make sure to pop over to Wyangala Dam (14 min) for a fish or take part in some watersports. Or even head down the road to Elliotts Lookout over the Dam for some incredible views! We can even provide under cover boat storage if you want to bring your boat with you for some fun on the lake! In spring, enjoy the beautiful blossoming fruit trees. You can even visit Sakura Matsuri, the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival in Cowra late September! Year round, enjoy the tranquillity and landscapes of the Japanese Gardens and Cultural Centre in Cowra (14 min). The gardens act as a monument of peace and reconciliation between two countries after the largest Prisoner Of War breakout in modern military history. Cowra's rich history can be explored at the Cowra POW Campsite and various other historical sites around town. Make sure to end your night around a great campfire! We have a designated campfire area and complimentary firewood in a wood shed close by. Roast some marshmallows and take in the starry night sky. Property has a gorgeous brand new stand-alone bathroom building with 2 toilets, a hot water shower and sink. Please keep this clean and tidy. There are cleaning products under the sink as we cannot always be there to keep it clean. There is also an undercover table for use in the shearing shed but please BYO chairs. Please take all rubbish with you. Please make sure to follow COVID-19 guidelines by washing and sanitising hands especially when using shared areas. Pick a camp site in the middle aisle around the sheds, bathroom block and driveway OR in our top hill paddock (if gates are open) to take in the views. You are welcome to camp anywhere in the paddock - please note these sites are only accessible on foot, please do not drive into the paddock. No fires in the paddock please, there is a communal campfire spot available. We can accommodate RVs on the granite parking pads near the bathroom block. There is a power pole close by to plug in to. Note the ground off the driveway and parking pads can get very wet and boggy so to avoid getting bogged please try to stick to the driveway as much as possible.

There are 8 designated camping areas to set up your camp. Enjoy an evening by the campfire some firewood available if you forage or bring your own however please do not cut down or use any standing trees even if they look dead as they add a nice feature to the property. This campsite is suited for campers who are self-contained, with own camping toilet/shower amenities and water supply. Pets on leashes welcome (we have lots of stock wandering about). This is a fully fenced farm all gates that are closed must be closed after entry plenty of privacy, there are over 6 k of 4 wheel drive tracks with amazing rock formations and features all through the property .Each campsite is your own private space and no neighbours.

Tucked into the beautiful Lachlan Valley, Grenfell is a fascinating gold rush town with great galleries, historic buildings and superb country pubs. There are also many events celebrating the town’s rich history and culture. Campers will enjoy flat, grassy sites on this 20 acre block. The creek is suitable for swimming, fishing, gabbling and paddling, and is quite wide in spots. This campsite suits self contained campers, who bring their own facilities and leave no trace. The access is via a dirt road (easy drive). You're welcome to bring your dog.
