Purchased in 1988 as a block of Bush, the majority of clearing was initially done with a small Massey Ferguson Te20 a long length of chain a shovel and chainsaw.Built originally with nothing more than the chainsaw, shovel, hammer and nails the log cabin that I still live in has undergone a few changes over the years but we have tried to keep it looking the same on the outside made mostly from large hardwood posts and paperbark slabs and half rounds for walls concrete floor with sunken lounge room. The hand built rock chimney is the feature piece of the front of the cabin so be sure to check it out and get a few pics.

All proceeds go towards running costs and improving facilities. We have an onsite caretaker (LES) for maintaining the property. Dog friendly (must be controlled at all times!) and good access for caravans and all types of vehicles.A large flat grassed area for camping and 200m walk to The Boyne River at Pikes Crossing with access for swimming. There is an area to launch small boats and ideal for canoeing and kayaking in protected waters. Close to Lake Awoonga (4km drive) for fishing and all other aquatic activities along with a great barramundi stocked impoundment.There is a large undercover area with tables and chairs, flushing toilets and hot showers and designated campfire area. All campers have access to this. We also offer a commercial kitchen and BBQs for group bookings. We welcome community functions, weddings, birthday parties and youth groups. Inquiries welcome.

Midskinrick is a 40-acre waterfront property on Baffle Creek in Queensland. 70km north of Bundaberg, 125km south of Gladstone. This little piece of paradise, on the southern bank of Baffle Creek, is a great place to fish from the bank or launch your boat, crab, swim (in our dam), relax and enjoy the peace while watching the wildlife. Choose the unique modern self-contained Lodge or bring your caravan/camper/rooftop/swag/tent and book a camp site. Midskinrick has 7 large family sized sites with a firebox on each site (no water connection) situated near the dam. Access to, Hot showers (Small fee applies), Flushing toilets, Washing Machine (small fee per load) and a Camp kitchen. This price is for unpowered. If you want power, please add this as an extra during booking $10 per night. The powered sites are approximately 450m from the riverbank. Confirming there are no water connections to these sites, but fresh water is available for drinking. Midskinrick has 7 large family sized sites with a firebox on each, overlooking the river flats - Septic flushing toilets, Shower room (solar bag not supplied), Drinking water, Camp kitchen area, Firebox - bring your own wood or purchase from the owners (please do not source firewood from the roadside due to animal habitats). Hot showers are available near the dam area for a small fee. There is no option to add power here. Strictly unpowered. Boat Ramp, Small bank area for fishing, 5klm from the ocean mouth, Fires permitted (in fireboxes only), Pet friendly (strictly on leash or in enclosure), great swimming (in the dam), Pushbike riding enjoyed, a perfect family holiday!

Designated fireplaces and firewood available. All campsites except the Safe Haven are physically separated and reserved for a single group (either travelling alone or in company with others). The Safe Haven can accommodate up to 4 caravans/campers with a communal central fireplace by the water. A seasonal summer stream normally runs through the length of the property from January to May. During this time access to some of the walking trails can be restricted. All sites can be left unattended and secure by visitors for day trips to surrounding areas such as Agnes Water, Seventeen Seventy, the Boyne Valley or various National Parks located within 50klms. Your hosts are always present and ready to assist in any way they can. Dogs welcome. Note: Flushing toilet is located adjacent to the Safe Haven campsite.
