Pamona Park, nr Gordonvale

10 sites · RVs, Tents20 acres · Aloomba, QLD
Our 20-acre exotic fruit farm backs onto World heritage rainforest and provides a relaxing base for which to explore the wet tropics south of Cairns. We have a beautiful freshwater swimming hole down the road, and also the Mulgrave River is very close if you want to do some fishing. The camping area is large, grassy and reasonably level, with space closer to the tree line, and space more out in the open. There is a firepit provided, and plenty of firewood around the place for you to help yourself to. We also welcome four-legged family members! We have had recent sightings of cassowary on our property so keep an eye out, you might just see one!We prefer self-contained campers, who have their own amenities, but we do have a toilet and shower up at the main house (about 50 metres away) you are welcome to use if needed. This is an unused bathroom downstairs so you will still have privacy. Access into the property is not suitable for large motorhomes. Entry will be too small for vehicles approx 8.5 metres long and 3.5 metres high.We grow exotic fruit on the property including limes, pomelos, mangosteens and more. When it's in season, you're welcome to sample some! Gordonvale is the nearest town, with a quiet historic charm, just 15 minutes drive away, while Cairns is around 25 minutes.

Barron River Getaway at Kuranda

4 sites · RVs, Tents50 acres · Kuranda, QLD
Surrounded by 40,000 acres of world heritage rainforest, 15 minutes outside the village of Kuranda, you will camp next to the mighty Barron River. This place is totally private and you have access to a sandy beach where swimming is safe and completely secluded. It's a great place for kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. There is a 360 degree view from the property, with nothing made by man in the way. When we purchased this property 37 years ago and built our unique home, it was denuded cattle land, and now we are surrounded by the most beautiful rainforest. We planted approximately 8000 trees.! We have 4 sites available all close to the river, and can provide water as well as access to our toilet. We are agile wallaby carers, with the rescued joeys being released back into the forest from here. After a day of kayaking or hiking or exploring the area we also offer a sunset massage (as available ) by a local masseuse who lives on the property. Watch the stars in the night sky at your own campfire.

Cool Clean & Green in Julatten!

5 sites · RVs61 acres · Julatten, QLD
Juliet and Grant have been custodians since 2003, in that time we've built a house, raised a family and now that Alex and Hayley are both at University, life has become a little quieter, (not so sure if we like the quiet though!) Now we've only just started with Hipcamp, we do have a lot to discover, happy to listen and learn. We do offer plenty of space and you will not be crowded out as we keep numbers very limited. No facilities, no toilets, showers, electricity, rubbish bins etc. We do ask that you respect this as you must be fully self contained. We do not consider, a bucket with a lid, to be self contained ok!
