283 acres of mainly level bush with camping sites in various locations, either in a remote bush or by the water (dams). 6 kms of bushwalking tracks with abundant native wild and bird life. Designated fireplaces and firewood available. All campsites except the Safe Haven are physically separated and reserved for a single group (either travelling alone or in company with others). The Safe Haven can accommodate up to 4 caravans/campers with a communal central fireplace by the water. A seasonal summer stream normally runs through the length of the property from January to May. During this time access to some of the walking trails can be restricted. All sites can be left unattended and secure by visitors for day trips to surrounding areas such as Agnes Water, Seventeen Seventy, the Boyne Valley or various National Parks located within 50klms. Your hosts are always present and ready to assist in any way they can. Dogs welcome. Note: Flushing toilet is located adjacent to the Safe Haven campsite.

Tired of the rat race! Then chill out at High Country Haven. A peaceful 600-acre cattle property nestled in the picturesque Burnett ranges. The stunning views, sunrises, sunsets and night sky will amaze you. You can bush walk, bird watch, mountain bike ride, take wildlife photos, enjoy the farm or just sit around a campfire. Choose between a remote site suited to the self sufficient camper or a site near the farmstead with fantastic views. Each site can accommodate up to 8 people. The Moon Shadow is located just beyond the tree line on the perimeter of a large undulating paddock with creeks. It is close to the Bania National Park. Attractions within 20 minutes’ drive include: the historic mining town of Mt Perry (museum, pub, shop and old picture house converted to a restaurant), the Mt Perry Summit Walk (highest peak between Brisbane and Rockhampton), the Boolboonda Tunnel (longest unsupported rock tunnel in the Southern Hemisphere), the Bania National Park (swimming holes), the National Trail, the Wolca Reserve Mountain Bike Riding Track, the Mt Perry Copper Mine and local fossicking/panning. Campfires are permitted except when fire bans are in force. Firewood is available.

We are located 26 km off the Bruce Highway half way between Mount Perry and Gin Gin, close to the Booldoonda Tunnel a Heritage listed railway tunnel (192 meters in length making it the longest unsupported man-made tunnel in Queensland. Climb Mount Perry and take in the beautiful views. Experience the Federal Inn Pub and restaurant in Mount Perry. We are 78 km from Bundaberg, 150km from Hervey Bay, 300km from the Sunshine Coast, 390 km from Brisbane, 290km from Rockhampton.

A serene and peaceful place Mugul is where you can experience the energy of a sacred Indigenous site. Accessible for all types of vehicles. Dog friendly. The property offers basic camping without facilities. You will need to be self-sufficient. We have a bush toilet but no showers. At the house there are toilets and showers available for an extra charge. Please see us if required. Campfires permitted in a designated area when restrictions aren't in place. You can purchase firewood from us (see Extras). We prefer you to bring your own water, emergency supply can be arranged (we are on tank water). Patchy mobile reception.

Many a yarn will be told of the gold that can be found in the hills around.A fantastic place to bring the family and the 4 legged friends (on leads as this is a working property). We also have a small barbed wire paddock available for horses by request.
