From the outback to beachfront camping, Queensland offers caravan spots to suit all styles.
Queenslanders are some of the most enthusiastic campers in Australia, which is part of why the state is ideal to haul your caravan. While family-friendly holiday parks come with all the bells and whistles (expect swimming pools or water parks, on-site cafes, wifi, and minigolf), there's also no shortage of smaller, family-owned caravan parks. These are often unpowered camping sites situated in the outback, the hinterland, or even by the beach, and many are a short drive from national parks and urban centres like Cairns, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Rainbow Beach, Hervey Bay, Airlie Beach, Townsville, Sunshine Coast, and Bundaberg. It's not uncommon to find caravan sites that are also pet-friendly or that come with additional amenities such as BBQ grills or camp kitchens. It doesn't matter the time of year—Queensland promises warm and sunny days, although it can get cool at night during winter.
