Rest and revitalise in warmth of the outdoor bath tub, on the deck, on the day bed with its window overlooking the creek, or in front of the fire each evening. You can choose, closed and cosy or open and airy, either is easy in the Shepherds Hut. Indulge in the steaming warmth of either the outdoor or indoor showers. The Hut is fully contained with everything you need for a fabulous stay. Crockery, cutlery, toaster, electric jug, electric frypan, mini air fry oven. (no microwave) Enjoy warming your toes around the outdoor fire pit as you gaze at the stars above. A perfect base to explore the new Northern Rivers Rail Trail which is just a couple of kms up our quiet country road. Stroll around country roads next to creeks, or for the more active ask the host about full day hikes to little known but spectacular Mt Chowan and Unicorn falls. Or if you prefer the option to stay on the property, enjoy bushwalking, hiking and bird watching, or just relax and unwind. We are located a short 20 minute drive from the remote Wooyung beach, or 35 min from Byron. Just 7 kms from the village of Burringbar which has a grocery and liquor store, Thai food and woodfired pizza.

Jerrapark is just far enough away from towns and cities to feel remote and wild. Some guests have remarked half joking that as they enter the property it feels a bit more like Jurassic Park. A section of the farm has been preserved as rainforest…where towering palms and ghost like eucalypts stand over boulder strewn creeks that sometimes flood with roaring force. Everywhere there are wallabies, goannas and the weather sentinels…the black cockatoos. Bird lovers will find it is an excellent place to go birdwatching. Take a stroll through the verdant pecan forest where our horses graze…sit by the bubbling creek…and if you are very quiet you just might glimpse a platypus foraging. When the weather turns hot and steamy take a splash in one of the dams or wander down and sit under the waterfall that cascades most months of the year. Here is a wonderful place to meditate…a primal grotto watched over by towering gums and palms. Luxuriate in our newly added spa, including a Hot tub and a Sauna, to detox and relax! Later reconnoitre up the hill and glimpse our small part of the ancient caldera with Mt Warning (Wollumbin) in the distance. While you are there pick some ripe mangoes and take them home for a sweet treat. Back at the carriages the herb garden will assault your senses with the aroma of wild basil, thyme, lavender, lemon balm and mint…weaving a spell to enthuse you to cook up something mouth-watering in the kitchen.

We had a very peaceful stay at the Hut, surrounded by nature - a highlight being sleeping with all the windows open under the net, and hearing the babbling creek, and bird & insect life all around us. It’s the perfect spot to hit the Rail Trail, we did 58km and soaked in the hot tub that night. The Hut has everything you need - bbq, coffee machine, kitchen utensils, large fridge, linen & towels. Burringbar town is super close if you want a meal out. We had a delicious breakfast at Teakwood, and got to meet Craig and have a chat about the history of the property. It’s a lovely place for couples to disconnect.

A beautiful getaway, conveniently close to Canungra if you feel like doing something more, but the bubbling creek and quiet nature is the perfect escape 😊 A few lovely animals around to keep you company and a perfect spot for a fire! It was a pleasure to stay there Make sure you bring cooking basics like oil/ salt and pepper etc and some mozzie spray and any creature comforts you like but everything else is completely provided! The Glamping area is on roughly 2 acres which is a horse free area. You can reset your mind or just relax in the creek and enjoy nature. We provide a kitchenette area with cooking utensils, off grid loo . No power. Creek dip too wash . Bring your own firewood, food, ice and drinks etc. Bedding and esky supplied by us. No Kids No Pets.
