We are a small permaculture homestead and co-living community with a focus on regenerative agriculture, natural building & communal living. We are in the early stage of our journey, as we build our house and set up the homestead infrastructure. Long-term, our plan is to be semi-self-sufficient, and to grow almost all of the food we need to feed ourselves, and the friends/housemates who will live here with us. Currently it's just two adults and one child living here, but soon it will be a thriving and bustling co-living community and homestead. From June 2024 onwards there may be up to 13 housemates living here with us including kids, in our purpose-built hempcrete passive house. We are on 10 acres of mostly open paddock, surrounded by a small seasonal creek on one side, a large 200m swimmable dam on the other, and 50 acres of nature reserve to explore next door. The expansive Muckleford State Forest is just beyond, great for mountain biking, bush-walking and discovering old historical relics from the gold mining days. We are just 5km from Castlemaine town centre, which is an easy cycle or a 5 min drive. Staying with us, you'll enjoy a unique mix of community life and nature time. All guests are expected to join us in the main house for our communal dinner each evening at 6pm. Your camping fee includes the cost of dinner. For the remainder of your stay, you are welcome to cook and enjoy your own meals solo, as you like. Redbank farm has been home to five generations of Superfine Merino wool Farmers. The charming homestead is set on 1000 acres of rolling hills, lush trees, and dams that offer plentiful grazing to sheep and cattle. Metcalfe's rural landscape still remains largely untouched, giving a real feeling of freedom and fresh air, filled with wildlife and sensational scenic adventures to enjoy, like the stunning cascades just up the road. Redbank offers sites across 200 acres of land, SITE 1 a main area offers 4 large sites suited to campers wanting to be super close to toilet, shower, camp kitchen, and playgrounds, which is a major hit with the kids making it a popular spot for families. The camp kitchen has dining space and barbecue facilities. There are about 6 paddock sites that are still within walking distance to all facilities but are nicely spread out to provide guests with there own space. We have 4 sites that you will either need to be a self-sufficient camper, or keen for a hike to facilities as these sites offer a lot more privacy and would need 4wD to access. 2 more sites that you must completely self sufficient and have 4wd skills. We are a no trace camp ground and ask you to take all waste with you when you leave. Dogs are permitted in camps but must be kept on a leash to protect our livestock. Redbank is a working Farm and you will likely see or hear evidence of this during your stay, but we are very considerate of our campers and have had a wonderful experience sharing our land so far and had very happy campers. BEYOND REDBANK156 Campers will find many more attractions in the area, Great spots for hiking, swimming, fishing or just straight up relaxing in the serenity. TRUPENS waterfalls are close by CASCADES and the Coliban River runs through Metcalfe AND EPPOLOCK just up the road. A short drive of 10-15min in all directions will take you to one of the funky little historic towns Kyneton, Castlemaine, Redesdale, and Malmsbury, and another 15 mins on to Daylesford and Trentham all filled with brilliant restaurants, cafes, vineyards, vibrant retail and market scene. This is lovely quiet, open bushland block, close to Newstead and Castlemaine. Cairn Curran Reservoir is only a few kilometres away. Pitch a tent or drive your van in. There are great opportunities for taking leisurely walks or rides along the gravel roads surrounding the property. What makes this property special is the awesome shack which can be used for cooking and relaxing. It also has great dam and incredible variety of birds, so it is a birdwatching mecca. A shower and portable toilet is available onsite. Water safety note: A dam exists within the property and is located close to the camping area. The dam does not have exclusion fencing and may be a hazard to some. This should be considered prior to booking, particularly if you have young children.

Merriwoola is a property of outstanding natural beauty and offers guests a sanctuary from the world surrounded by parkland bush, mysterious boulders resting amongst the trees and numerous native animals including wombats, echidnas, kanagroos, wallabies, possums, koala and the most extraordinary birdlife. The property is defined by an ancient water course that cuts a 1km ravine through the property. During the winter the dry boulder-strewn gorge is transformed with waterfalls and cascades along its length and regardless of the season transports you to another time and place. There is limited solar power (enough for phones and laptops) and low flow water (enough to brush your teeth). Neither is guaranteed to be available. A wood stove heats the hut, boils the kettle and cooks your dinner; firewood is included. An open outdoor bathroom includes a sink, bath and drop toilet. Hot water is available but not promised. The hut is fenced and well-behaved dogs are welcome. This property is suited to resourceful guests who are familiar with lighting fires, swinging an axe and understanding rural courtesies. The abundance of wildlife is used to peace so if you are taking a dog with you then please keep it within eyesight and always under your control. Please also consider that the mobs of kangaroos that roam the property include some large bucks (boomers) that can be confrontational if surprised so please proceed with caution if approaching grazing animals.

The Korweingy Recreation Reserve is a wonderful country hall and oval. It is 12 minutes from Daylesford and in the heart of the Wombat State Forest. It has a huge hall, kitchen, toilets and showers, and a huge oval. It even has a little lounge area. The oval is the same dimensions AS THE MCG! The site can accommodate up to 30 campers, and you'll have full use of the hall and all facilities. An amazing place for large groups to hold events, and gatherings and only an hour from Melbourne. Enjoy all the area has to offer, and come back to your own paradise in the bush. Wake up to roos on the oval and enjoy a barbie with your group.
