Welcome to Thistle Dew located 10 minutes south of stunning Fernie, British Columbia. We are located about 15 minutes from Hiway 3. Fernie is a mecca for the outdoor enthusiast. People come from all corners of the world to ski here in the winter, but its the summer that makes people fall in love with our town. The adventures are endless whether you are into biking, hiking, fishing, or the arts and music. Thistle Dew is tucked into the mountains and is surrounded by beautiful trees, which makes our one tent site feel very tucked away and private. Hop on your bike or put on your hikers, step out of your tent and you are on the Elk Valley Trail section of the Trans Canada Trail. Thistle Dew is best suited to the self contained campers. There is no water or power available. Driveway is up a bit of a grade so all wheel drive vehicles are best. Campfires are permitted when there is no fire ban. Firewood is available for purchase - add as an extra at time of booking. Firewood will be at campsite when you arrive. Our campsite is the perfect lookout over the Elk Valley. It is surrounded by trees and very private. The access driveway has a slight grade to it, very managleble with a 4x4 or an All-wheel drive vehicle. Or park below and walk up the short driveway. Sorry, no trailers. This campsite is perfect for the night or a few days if you want to explore all the trails Fernie has to offer. 5 min drive to the river, 10 minute drive to town. OCT 1 - Closed for the season

Private campsite in the trees
Tent
Holly's campsite is a perfect stop for the night! This was our first night on our big trans-Canada adventure. The campsite is private and in the trees, offering plenty of sun during the day but keeping you nicely in the shadows for the first part of the morning. Holly was an incredible host, everything from communication, road directions and local's tips were spot on. There is easy access to mountain biking and hiking trails, and the trans-Canada bike path is very nearby. Cleanest portapotty we've ever seen! Easy 10 minute drive from Fernie, with a gravel road for the last 1km. The road up to the camp site is short and steep, 4x4 is recommended but not necessary for a skilled driver. The trains do make some sound in the evening and morning but it didn't bother us at all!

The site was amazing! Beautiful views and lots of privacy. Aside from the occasional train, it was quiet and peaceful. Perfect location only being a few minutes outside of town. Will definitely camp here again!

Good MTB Base Camp
Tent
Holly was a friendly and responsive host. Site is 10 min drive from Fernie, which was awesome. There is also a nice mountain bike trail you can use to get from the site to town. The site was basic but exactly as described. The driveway to the site is steep and loose gravel. You can get up there with 2wd (I was in a Ram Promaster camper van) but need to really gun it.

Would go again!
Tent
Awesome little spot with a great view. Little steep rock road to get in, but our SUV got up just fine. Incredibly clean portable washroom on site (cleanest I've ever seen!) We only stayed one night on our way to Montana but would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay closer to Fernie and have a campsite to yourself! No one else was sold except the owners who had their own seperate driveway and we barely saw them at all.

Very easy and convenient spot close to the local trails. Holly is a very nice and understanding host even when I messed up the days I needed to stay.
