Founded in 2018, the St Pete Micro Farm (SPMF) is an ambitious project located in Saint Petersburg Florida. Resting on just 1/10th of an acre, this 1957 mid-century modern home hosts over 80 different species of fruiting tree and shrub. With the goal of blending natural beauty and innovative design, it's an ever-evolving space that is both inviting and surprising. During your stay, we invite you to enjoy an open-air yet tastefully private shower under the bananas, or relax back into the big enough for two garden tub. A large outdoor kitchen area with a gas burner and grill will also be available for your use. An 8' x 7' yoga deck is a great place to stretch out, and doubles as your tent's platform when it's time to set up camp. If you're bringing your own tent (standard), please ensure it will fit on the available deck. Or, if you'd like for us to provide a tent for you, please select it in the add-ons section before completing your booking (Heat beating, air conditioned/AC option also available under extras). In the outdoor shower area there's a "Nature's Head" composting toilet just a few steps away from where you'll be staying. On chillier evenings, you can toast marshmallows by the fire pit, or just star gaze and let time trickle by. During the day, you'll be free to get online and catch up with the work world, or walk the garden and discover one of the many hideaways scattered around the property. You never know what will be in season, but with the guidance of one of your hosts, you can try a variety of fruits, greens, and berries if they're ready for harvest. A rich variety of wild birds visit regularly, recognizing it as a safe haven for wildlife. And though we can't guarantee you'll see a rare one, we can guarantee you'll see CHICKENS! Six of them in fact, Salty, Sleepy, Jet, Little Comb, Tapatio, and Dutchess. These friendly, curious, and fearless little marauders are guaranteed to make your acquaintance, and if you're not looking, invite themselves to share your breakfast. They free roam the yard during daylight hours, so please help us keep all gates shut to prevent them from going on an unscheduled field trip. They will also leave "landmines" on the pathways, so be sure to watch your step. We do our best to keep everything clean and tidy, but chickens abhor tidiness. And will go out of their way to unleash chaos at every turn. Still, we love the little bird brains and they are an entertaining addition to the grounds. They're also the reason we ask that all pets, and children under 12, be left at home. We thank you for your understanding and help in preserving the safety of our flock, and as thanks, please help yourself to any fresh eggs in the chicken coop. This is only a brief description, there's so much more to see on-site, but you'll also want to make your way out into the city (15 minute drive) for some of the unique flair St Pete is known for. Check out the Salvadore Dali museum and see his famous surrealist paintings. Visit some of the best beaches in the country, like St Pete Beach (15 minutes drive due West). Wander the Fort Desoto historical park area. Or play ultimate frisbee at a local course located 10 minutes down the road. Stop by the Morean Arts Center and see live glass blowing demonstrations, or just walk along Central Ave to soak up the cool vibe and rich city art scene. Complete with murals, sculptures, and a pier scene that's not to be missed.Glamper's Paradise is the one and only tent site (bring your own tent, or be sure to reserve one in the add-ons section before finalizing your booking, air conditioned/AC tent option also available) at the St Pete Micro Farm, and consists of a 7' x 8' yoga deck located between the outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen areas. Just steps away from your site is the outdoor kitchen, complete with propane grill, propane burner (always turn off propane tanks after use), table with chairs, and a large sink with hot and cold water. On the other side of your site is a beautiful open air shower (hot/cold) where you can scrub up under the sun. This area has a large fence surrounding it for privacy and thanks to a Natures Head composting toilet, doubles as your bathroom facility. There are also several other areas around the property with tables and chairs for your use. Whether it's lunch time or remote work time, we're sure you'll find the perfect spot. From sunup to sundown you'll enjoy the antics of our friendly flock of chickens. Don't be afraid if they run right up to you, they like people and haven't eaten anyone yet. And if you want to make a friend for life, turn the dial on the candy machine, it will dispense a handful of yummy dried meal worms, the chickens favorite snack. In the middle of the yard is a fire pit which is great for roasting treats, making smores, or just enjoying under the stars. Because we're so far down on the point, we have surprisingly good star gazing. And maybe best of all, you're staying at an urban micro farm, which means there's almost always something fruiting. Grab one of your hosts and they'll guide you to whatever is "growing-on" during your stay. Also, please note: - The tents shown in the photos are representational of the site, but are not provided as part of the basic package. Please ensure the tent you bring can be setup in the space provided. Or, consider purchasing our additional tent option from the available add-ons before checkout. The tent we offer is an insulated Shiftpod Mini III which accommodates two persons and measures 6'5" x 6'5" square, air conditioned option also available. - (Noise Warning) Chickens believe their song makes the sun rise, and they can be quite enthusiastic in their duties. So please bring a quality pair of earplugs, or use the ones provided in your welcome kit, if you plan to sleep in. - Dear van tourers and dwellers, though we do not have rv connections for water or electrical, and there is no waste tank disposal on-site. You are welcome to book a stay, pitch a tent on the yoga deck, and make use of the on-site facilities as a camper. We have on-site parking for a mid-sized car or truck, but if your vehicle is larger we'd ask that you make use of street parking on 7th St S. Also, no sleeping in vehicle option is available at this site. - Update: For your convenience, we have turned on the instant booking feature, which means you no longer have to make your booking request 12 hours in advance. We did this to accommodate more of our guests and to make the check-in process as simple as possible. That said, you can now drop in at a moment's notice, which means we have less time to prepare the grounds for your arrival. If you choose to take advantage of this instant booking feature, and especially if you have chosen one of the add-on features like the tent, or tent+ac, we appreciate your patience while we move to accommodate your request and prepare the grounds.

Bill told me at the beginning of my 2-night stay that he intended for his micro-farm to be an inspiring place and I can confirm… the intention was felt! I left feeling inspired about many things… growing food, feng shui architecture, art, stories, circus life, and just living simply. The beauty of the quaint but rich land left me feeling like a freshly bloomed flower 🌸 If you’re a creative, you especially want to come take a few days in this space to create. creativity just seems to flow in the jungle-island-vibe. I play the ukulele and while I was here, I played for hours in the tropical garden! And wrote for the first time in a while too. Bill made sure I had everything I needed ~ pots, pans, ice, hammock to hang in, sugarcane juice to drink… he truly cares about making an experience enjoyable. I cannot wait to come back to camp at this magical backyard homey retreat again. Thank you Bill, Steph, Noah, Big Red, Salty, Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum, and all the other chicky girls 🐓 for a refreshing and meaningful time in your space.

We stayed here for a night and had a great time! Bill was so welcoming and accommodating from the minute we arrived. The tour of his place and the garden was so fun and we got to taste some fruits and veggies we had never heard of. Staying with the chickens was also a highlight, they are so friendly and cute and make great breakfast partners while having some fresh eggs. We would absolutely stay here again.

Comfortable like an apartment!
Tent
Excellent amenities and convenient location! When I asked for lights off for darkness at night they were very accommodating. I cooked a meal and everything at the outside kitchen worked really well plus it's greatly designed and enjoyable to cook at!

Magical Oasis
Tent
There are plenty of tiny hideaways and sitting spots sprawled around the front and back. Not much laying on the ground or hammock spots because of the chickens but I used the tent deck to do yoga after I packed up and the chickens didn't invade too much. It's a beautiful oasis on a city lot with some top notch amenities! The chickens are also lovely and friendly. :)
