Family owned private campground since the 1940's. Very secluded and private.
Nice trails for hiking or biking. There is even a small "race track" in the bottom bowl near the creek. There are several direct access points to the creel for fishing or wading. We have miles of marked trails that are easy for everyone.
Horseshoe Bend Main is a larger campground with four dispersed sites which a very spread out. This site has (3) 30 amp outlets for RV's. Porta potties are also provided.
The Horseshoe Bend Creekside sites are designated spots that are on the West Panther creek bank. There are porta potties, but no electric or water.
Camping at this site is a serene and private experience, perfect for families and friends looking to explore nature without the crowds. Many visitors highlight the spaciousness and seclusion of the campsites, which are surrounded by beautiful, well-maintained woods and offer access to a creek that's perfect for cooling off. Host Brady is frequently praised for being generous, responsive, and providing helpful amenities like ample firewood and clean facilities. The trails and natural setting provide a relaxing backdrop, making it an inviting spot for repeat visits.
At Brady’s suggestion, we ended up camping at the main site, rather than creekside, due to rain forecasts. Thankfully the rain during our stay wasn’t as bad as predicted, and we had a wonderful time! Our dogs enjoyed running around the whole area (it was just us there), we had nice hikes, and we stayed safe and dry when we did get rain. Brady was very kind and even called to update us on the weather report so we’d be prepared. We’d definitely come back another time and try the creek sites.
Brady was very accommodating, allowing me to arrive early and even brought extra firewood down to camp in the evening. My site was right next to the creek at creekside 3, the last in line of a few other sites, all of which are nicely spaced for campers privacy and comfort. In the morning I got to enjoy the sunrise as birds swooped down to the creek and deer came to drink. As the last of the nocturnal creatures tucked themselves in everything came alive with birdsong, deer, squirrels and his beautiful cows at pasture. With several mowed hiking trails and the enormous winding creek I wish I could had stayed all weekend long!
The Horseshoe Bend
We pulled in just in time to get set for an evening fire and walk around the quiet and beautiful grounds with the large trees. The fire pits were nicely set up and there was free wood in the pavilion. Brady responded quickly to every text and sent us very specific directions on how to find the site. He even checked in to make sure that we made it ok.
We enjoyed seeing the cows and calves on the ride in and hearing them into the evening hours as they settled in for the night. That being said, the land is not a pasture, it is covered in trees. We found the fiberglass biffy to be very clean and well stocked. We will stay here again on future adventures!
This was definitely one of my favorite campouts. It was the first time camping at this location and I already have plans in the future to return. The site was easy to find and very clean. I loved being right next to the creek with easy access to walk down into the creek or lounge next to it. Brady was an amazing host and very helpful if I needed anything.
Brady’s property was beautiful! My partner and I really enjoyed the peaceful environment at Creekside Site 2. Brady was responsive and provided us with firewood twice. His hospitality was very welcoming. We would love to return back. The porta potty was cleanly and close to the site.
