Welcome to our campsite, nestled in the woods at Whaleback Nursery, an active native plant nursery. Our campsite is surrounded by natural beauty, featuring multiple meadows and food forests, an old growth maple grove, and a babbling creek that runs alongside the site, providing a serene and tranquil environment. Our site is conveniently located for those looking to explore the local area, with easy access to Portland and the White Mountains. Visitors can also enjoy nearby swim spots, hiking trails, and other outdoor recreational activities. The old growth maple grove on the property is a truly unique and special feature, providing a sense of history and natural wonder. The trees tower overhead, providing shade and shelter from the sun, while the babbling creek provides a soothing soundtrack to your stay.Pitch a tent in a gorgeous grove of old growth sugar maples where the light filters down to the open forest floor. Swing in a hammock and listen to the babbling brook. This site is located just 100 meters from the road where you will walk down through rows of young trees and wildflowers. Enjoy exploring the creek, forest, and old stone walls. This site is also conveniently located between the city of Portland and the White Mountains and is 10 minutes from the cute village of Cornish. As our site is an active nursery, you may see us and our dog tending to the trees, feeding our chickens, and enjoying the outdoors. Feel free to say hi and ask us for any recommendations on hikes, swim holes, and more. We also host farm to table meals in our centuries old barn. Check out https://whalebacknursery.com/events to book a meal during your stay!

Fun Autumn Camping!
Tent · Group trip
Tent camping at this site was easy and fun! Firewood was present and covered at the campsite, which was great for our rainy camping evening! Location is a short walk down from parking spot, and not so close to the road that any car traffic is a nuisance. The streambed was dry when we bedded down for the night, and flowing when we woke up. It was overall a pleasant and lovely experience.

Cozy place surrounded by nature
Tent
We loved the camp site. A bit scary the first night since it’s completely in the woods but felt good to be around nature. Thank you Max for your warm welcome
