Highly Recommend!!!
A clean, secluded, well-supplied and maintained cabin with fantastic views from the entire back of the cabin. I was able to cook full meals without issue thanks to the well-stocked kitchen; and the furnishings, linens, and bathroom supplies made the place feel like home. There were even dedicated 'sofa blankets' for the dog! A lot of places that allow pets don't do much to make their presence feel welcomed, but Mike took that extra step, and it was greatly appreciated! Baseboard heaters were individually controlled making it easy to keep it as cool or toasty as we needed, and the appliances and fixtures overall were in better repair than most rentals I've ever stayed in. The hot water pressure in the bathroom sink was low, but it really was not an issue. There was plentiful firewood for the pit out back and stove inside. The outside furnishings were plentiful, but it being off season, we didn't spend a lot of time lounging outside. There are ~182 steep steps leading down to the water, and the property does drop off sharply in back. But the view!!! Mike is a pleasant, helpful, and responsive host; and I cannot recommend him or his property enough! A note: For us, our nav/phone directions took us right to the property. Turn onto Partridge from Locust (right or left depending on your directions, but do go down to Mallard, past Partridge (PVT), and turn right. There are mucky spots in the lane that may be a bit much for a 2WD but not impassible.

Excellent choice! Would book again!
Mike's cabin and location were perfect. We felt like we off the beaten path yet close to anything we needed in less than 30 minutes. But we didn't really go anywhere because the peaceful and relaxing location was extremely what we wanted. Mike was a great host and was there for us if we needed anything and was super accommodating. Great views, and plenty of seating. Thank you Mike for a perfect getaway.

Had a great time at Mike’s cabin. The hosts were so prepared and everything we needed or wanted was already there. The house was clean, cozy, and a perfect place for a weekend getaway. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and we plan on staying again in the future. Thanks again

Hidden Gem in Newaygo
The cabin was exactly what we had hoped for tucked outside of the Newaygo downtown, this little cabin had all the amenities for a relaxing vacation to disconnect from the hassle of life. The lookout over the river is where we began and ended everyday looking for birds and listening to the breeze through the trees. It is a perfect size for a couple or small family looking to escape but still have the essentials. We're already planning to make our way back here on a yearly basis. Thanks for hosting us!

Excellent
This place is gorgeous The views you have in the back yard and along the climb up and down the back staircase are immense. Fall colors here would be breath taking! The cabin itself is modern, tasteful and relaxing with all the accommodations you would need. We made all of our meals here and the kitchen was well stocked with pans, utensils and space. We thought that this place would be fantastic for our elderly parents as well and that they would thoroughly enjoy it as we did. The WiFi worked great, and it is nicely located in Croton. We get close enough to explore the area but isolated enough to get some real privacy together. We sat outside both nights watching as the sun went down and the bats and moths emerged to say hello. This place would comfortably accommodate 4 adults and pets are allowed but I didn’t even know any animals had ever been there as the cabin was very clean. Also we really enjoyed the wind chime outside as it was perfectly toned and very pleasing to the ear. I could see an artist thriving on the view, new couples looking for a quiet getaway or a relaxing place to get away from the busy day to day. We would love to return for the fall or winter season as I believe the view year round would be awesome. Notes for others: I’m not sure more than 2 cars could fit comfortably in the driveway; we only had the one. Follow Miles instructions about the road getting there as the GPS takes you down a road only welcoming to 4x4’s.
