Waterfront
We loved the waterfront spot and the beautiful view of the sunrise. The hosts were very hospitable when we arrived to guide us to the site and available if we needed anything. Easy drive to the site and large flat space for tents or RV camping.

If you need an escape from the every day, this is your place. Our adventure began with a ride through scenic Winter Wonderland ride in the woods via UTV. The charming cabin, all hand made by Helmut, was charming, homey and very cozy during the cold winter weekend. There are some candles and lamps provided for light and three huge jugs of water to drink and wash dishes with. The wood stove functioned perfectly, keeping us warm at night and provided perfect heat to cook on.
Lots of firewood and birch bark to keep the wood stove going and plenty for a fire outside, which we thoroughly enjoyed with drinks and snacks. The outhouse is clean and scent free ;)
Helmut was a very friendly host and responded quickly to messages (given that he was our ride in and out). He groomed trails all around the property which made our Xcountry ski adventure super enjoyable. The wilderness area around the property is majestic. Some trails were left un-groomed, which was perfect for snowshoeing as well.
Highly recommend this off-grid getaway. While we did not want to leave, we did so with a feeling of peace and tranquillity. Thank you, Helmut for sharing your little piece of paradise with us! 🙏🏻🌲

We loved our weekend gateaway and we'll be back for sure! We spend the weekend doing fires outside, play with our dog, cook on the woodstove and even did a chocolat fondu at candle lights. This was our first experience with HipCamp and we are not dissapointed! Helmut was a wonderful host he made sure we had everything we needed and to thank him we cleaned and got is camp ready for the next one! I would recommend anyone that want to unplug and live the off grid experience to jump on this right away! Take it for 2 days! You will not regret it! Thanks again for the experience!!

The Owl’s Nest
We had an amazing week at Helmut’s cabin! the cabin itself is so lovely and has everything you need. We enjoyed walking through all the trails on the property. We will absolutely be back!

Had a lovely time with my friends exploring this beautiful woods and enjoying a cozy stay at the Owl’s Nest cabin. I would give 6 stars if I could! The work being done to protect and care for this forest and its inhabitants is very inspiring.

Had a wonderful stay on Helmut's land! Helmut was a friendly and gracious host, ensuring that we had everything we needed. It was a beautiful spot, perfect for our first road trip stop. It is perfectly situated if you want to just do a day trip over to PEI. Thank you so much Helmut!
