The West Camp
We will be back!
We had a fantastic weekend at Bonnie Doon. Matt was so kind and helpful even helping us out of a jam with our caravan. There was lots to do, the kids loved the rock climbing wall and dam with its jetty, we will return in summer to really appreciate the swimming hole. Lots to explore and beautiful mountain views. Special thanks to Jago the sheep dog for entertaining us all weekend rounding up the football. Thanks Matt for being such a gracious host on your beautiful property. See you soon

The West Camp
Private sites amongst the trees.
Close to all the sites and walks. Easy to access. The sites are very private and cleared spaces with fire pits. Firewood is available to buy.
Matthew is a great communicator and we would definitely stay here again and 100% recommend this Hipcamp.

Special Crew Camp
Camping for the adventurous
Bonnie Doon is a family friendly campsite for outdoor enthusiasts seeking both relaxation and adventure.
Matt was friendly, easy and helpful in the pre booking process, and when on site he was always quick to respond, if we needed anything. We also met the family dog Jargo or Jago. He visited us a lot and liked to play fetch. The kids loved him.
One of the standout features of this campsite is undoubtedly the dam, which serves as a focal point for both recreation and relaxation. There is just so much provided. There is a slide, a rope swing, a kayak, even a trampoline you can jump off into the water from the platform. But the best thing about the campsite is the rock climbing wall towering above the water, climb if you dare.
We paid a fee to use the outdoor shower and the drop toilets (which were pretty clean). The outdoor shower had a powerful shower head with hot water. Which was lovely after a swim in the dam.
The only con I can think of, the toilets were a bit of a walk to get too. Matt said he plans to build more toilet near ‘special camp crew’ site, which would be perfect.
The site layout, allowed for a group of 14 people with ample space and privacy. Drinking water and a fire pit is also provided. You can byo firewood or you can purchase off Matt. We purchase a trailer full and they burnt well.
