Welcome to Eight Mile Creek Campground, nestled in the heart of the Australian bush you will feel the peace and beauty of mother nature during your stay. Situated with Willi Willi National Park to the west, Boonanghi State Forest and Nature Reserve to the north, and the Kumbatine National park to the south, this is a remote campsite with no mobile reception. As you enter, be ready to embark on a digital detox, immersing yourself in nature's rhythms. This property is privately accessed and is approximately 40 minutes from Kempsey and the Pacific Motorway. You are required to have some experience driving off sealed roads, this campground is AWD/4WD access ONLY. Your campsite is one of three on a spacious flat area each offering an uninterrupted connection to the serene surroundings. Facilities include bush toilets and invigorating cold showers, providing a touch of comfort while keeping the experience rustic. You are welcome to collect wood and have a fire during your stay – weather conditions permitting. Be sure to fully extinguish your fire before you leave. Water is available in Eight Mile Creek. Please boil before drinking. Pets are welcome. We celebrate space, privacy, and the sheer quietude of nature, therefore please be respectful of our neighbours. We invite responsible, respectful nature loving campers who will leave no trace of rubbish or ill-considered driving. Please note; If you are interested in a longer free stay in exchange for a small amount of labour please reach out. This beautiful piece of land is located within the traditional lands of the Dunghutti and always was, always will be Aboriginal land.

A beautiful, private and peaceful property. We loved having the whole space to ourselves. The toilets were clean and well located.

Swimming holes and beautiful trees
Amazing amazing amazing property with so much space for groups or solo campers. Beautiful creek that runs through the property. There're a few different swimming holes accessible by foot. Enquire on directions with owners. Backdrop of whitegums is incredible.

Beautiful, quiet spot in absolute serenity. Natalie the host was fantastic at communicating, and made us feel very welcome. The dogs had a fantastic time in the creek, and we enjoyed exploring the local water holes.

A magical place with lovely creeks to explore and one of the best natural swimming holes I have ever been to very close by. Clear skies made for some great star spotting too. This is a very tranquil place. The journey in, puts you in the right head space - let go, co-exist with nature and enjoy its natural beauty without distraction. Thank you very much to our hosts who were great with communication leading up to the stay.

Not for us
30 ft pop-up camper ·
We decided not to stay. It wasn't what we were looking for. It is basically a cow paddock, it needs slashing as the grass was high (so bring gum boots for the hidden cow pats), access to the small shallow stream was very limited apart from where the cattle access it but this is not at all near the camp site, the toilets have no doors (yes, see pic) and it's a long drive in with not much to do there. We couldn't find the swimming hole in the picture on Hipcamp. Natalie's communication was great and she did warn us that some wild cattle might wander through (not a problem, but they're more than wandering through). Some instructions on how to find the swimming holes would be good. But if you're looking to completely get away in a paddock in the middle of nowhere then this is your place.
