Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
We have a quiet bottom paddock for self-contained campers, easy road access and 15 minutes from Tathra / Bega, 20 mins from Merimbula with beautiful beaches, lakes, lagoons and rivers surrounding us. Seasonal creek, country outlook, your own camp spot, ideal stop over half way between Melbourne and Sydney along the coast. 3 hours from Canberra. 10 minutes drive from stunning Bournda National Park / Wallagoot Lake / Bournda Beach / Turingal Head / Bournda Lagoon. Outstanding bush walking, kayaking, swimming, mountain biking and fishing spots nearby. Happy to advise you on beautiful places to visit near us. We hire: 2 person kayak, kids kayaks (x2), electric bikes (x2), SUP board (all subject to availability). See 'extras' for details. Well behaved dogs are okay, we have horses and cattle nearby so they will need to be on the lead if this is new to them. Campfires okay when the conditions are right, please check with us first. We can provide firewood and eggs from our free ranging chooks for a small fee, see 'extras'. Any questions just message us.Site 1 is a flat grassy space at the bottom of our hill. East facing, you may get morning mist that clears quite quickly most days. Guests will have to be self-contained, take waste with you and leave no trace. We live at the top of the hill and can assist if needed. We are only offering one campsite at this time, so you will have the space to yourselves. Please contact us if you have dog/s with you. They are fine, but we have farm animals around so they will need to be on the lead if not used to this. Please note - if there has been a lot of rain and the paddock is soggy we might have to move you to our top paddock which is near the house and less private. This is all weather access and we haven’t had to do this yet, but we will have this as a backup if needed. Thanks for your understanding. Extras we offer: firewood, eggs (seasonal availability), hire SUP / kayak/ electric bike.

Lovely spot! We have a really enjoyable stay. It was super quiet and a great location to get to all the beautiful spots around the area. Sef and her partner were so helpful and friendly as well. We rented their bikes which was great fun (all delivered down to the campsite kindly as well!). And our doggos had the best time as well!! Would definitely recommend!! Thanks for your lovely hospitality :)

An amazing hidden gem!
16 ft pop-up camper
We absolutely loved this Grassy Field campsite! We were initially unsure as to how quiet it would be, noting that it was quite near a dirt road, but it really seemed to be a 'locals only' thoroughfare and so traffic was not an issue at all. It was a great location in relation to the town of Tathra as well as Bega, and we were sorry not to have been able to stay for longer. We would definitely stay at Grassy Field again if we find ever ourselves in the Tathra area at some point down the track - it was fabulous!

We loved the very aptly named grassy field. The drive up Wollagroot Lane was an easy drive. We had our fresh farm eggs on delivery. The field is perfectly flat and picturesque. There was limited traffic along the lane and the site was extremely quiet. We loved our stay and plan to come again.
