Stony Creek Farmstead is already home to a herd of Belted Galloway beef cows, a flock of Clun Forrest sheep, Tamworth pigs, hundreds of chickens, and a pair of dairy cows. We host farm stays in gorgeous platform tents equipped with everything including the kitchen sink! (beds for 6, a wood cookstove, flush toilet) The farm also offers private campsites in the hills and along the valley. Walk up the creek with your feet in it's cool water, take a hike to the pine forest, join the farm tour, make your own pizza in our wood fired brick oven on a Saturday night. You will have access to a beautiful outdoor shower house, our farm store brimming with meats, eggs, and organic veggies from the farm as well as local cheeses, yogurts, and other goodies. About Pets & Guests We ask that you leave your family dog at home. We have welcomed dogs on the farmstead in the past, but after a dangerous occurrence a few years ago, we have decided to ask guests to please leave their dogs at home. Although we realize the disappointment at having to leave a family member behind, we believe it will make your stay more relaxing. Because of the electric fences, farm animals, other guests, and conflicts with our working dogs your dog must be monitored so closely, that it makes relaxing difficult.

Heaven
Group trip
What a fantastic spot. Kate and Dan have created a slice of heaven. The tent is so well built and furnished that its basically a cabin! It was nice to be able to meet other people from a safe distance at the communal firepit. Pizza night was a BLAST! All you can eat delicious pizza on Saturday night for a flat rate. The farm tour with Amanda was very informative, I learned a lot about raising and maintaining animals. The farm store has everything you'd want to eat, including local meats, seasonal produce, and fresh-baked bread! You have to try the chicken. My favorite part of the trip was the guest chicken coop, where I probably checked for eggs 5-10 times a day. We'll be back!

My family had a magnificent weekend at Stony Creek Farmstead! The setting is idyllic and such a reprieve from our normal hectic life. The platform tent is super comfy and the potbelly stove is easy to use to provide heat and cook with. The farm store is very well stocked and the homemade bread is so DELISH - so were the fresh eggs and meat. Kate gave us an insightful farm tour after letting us milk the cow and we were able to get up and close to all the farm animals on the property. Kate even let us borrow some wooden blocks and a train set so that our 2yo son could play with them. This is a such a special and relaxing place. Thank you Kate for the hospitality!

Kate and Dan are pro farm stay hosts. Seriously. They’ve been hosting farm stays at Stony Creek Farmstead in the Catskills for nine years. There’s plenty of land to pitch your own tent but you’d be missing out on the unique platform tent accommodation. The platform tents have a wood floor and can sleep six people. There’s a room with a king-size bed, a cabinet bed for two, and another room with a bunk bed. The tent also includes a flush toilet and a kitchen with cold running water, a cooler, and a wood cookstove. Hot showers can be taken in the nearby shower house. Although there’s plenty to do in the Catskills region - hiking, antiquing, and exploring small towns - you probably won’t want to leave the farm. Disconnect and enjoy the lack of electricity or get out and explore the pastures and gardens. You’ll find cows, sheep, pigs, and chickens galore. There’s even a pond for swimming on hot summer days. Kate is also an educator and this farm stay will allow you to watch the daily milking and join the Saturday farm tour. You won’t go hungry. The farm store stocks their own meat, eggs, and vegetables as well as other products such as pancake mix, syrup, yogurt, soup, dish soap, t-shirts, yarn, and more. Don’t miss picking up the morning farm basket chock full of fresh baked bread, eggs, bacon, and vegetables; then head back to your platform tent to cook up a fantastic breakfast. And, on Saturday nights you can mingle with other guests at a wood-fired brick oven pizza night.
