Cozy and warm, heated, double-layered, all-season military grade tent by Camel Expeditionary. Fall asleep to the sound of the creek and waterfall. Only three minutes from Boone, yet away from it all! Minutes to App Ski Mtn, Tweetsie, fishing, and restaurants. Spacious 16'x16' tent on a private drive. Shared port-a-john close by. Seasonal outdoor shower, or $5 showers and pool 5 minutes away at the Rec Center. Complimentary firepit, firewood, cookstove, picnic area, water, WiFi and electricity. The campsite is accessed by parking along the road, then crossing the foot bridge to the stone steps across the creek. The 16x16 tent was made in Pioneer, TN by Camel Expeditionary. It features a queen Colemen air matress cot, and two padded twin cots. An electric space heater warms the tent even during cold winter temperatures. An additional twin airbed and two outdoor hammocks are available by request for sleeping. Free WiFi and electricity are in the tent. There is a picnic table inside with basic utensils. Outdoors are four chairs, a picnic table, bench, and firepit with grill. There is a regularly-serviced port-a-john available. There is a private shower tent with hot water April - October, or go 1.7 miles to enjoy the new Watauga County Rec Center's huge indoor pool facility with a $5 pass. Please bring your own towels and washcloths. Complimentary firewood is provided, along with matches and lighter fluid. Hiking trails are on the property, or nearby at Boone Gorges Park and the Boone Greenway Grail. Blue Ridge School of Traditional Arts is onsite with occasional concerts and jams. We are 5 minutes away from Appalachian State University and Tweetsie Railroad. We are 10 minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway and Appalachian Ski Mountain. Located on the grounds of The Red, White & Bluegrass Barn music venue. The tent is located with a direct view of the New River Stage & The Blue Ridge School of Traditional Arts. In the spring-summer months the Music Venue hosts the John Cockman Fiddle Camp for children as well as numerous traditional mountain music events, entertainment & concerts. The property has 123 total acres with assessable logging roads which allow for hiking on trails in pristine mountain terrain with ease.
