Welcome to Campsite in the Pines, a one acre lot surrounded by forest that you have all to yourself - located in beautiful cottage country, near the east gate of Algonquin Park. These are the Hastings Highlands! Within a short drive you'll find an abundance of lakes, including the beautiful Papineau Beach—a picturesque child-friendly and swimmable lake with shallow waters. It also offers breathtaking sunset views! The east gate to Algonquin Provincial Park is a scenic 30-minute drive, while hiking trails suitable for all skill levels can be found closer at Lake St. Peter Provincial Park. The campsite includes a canoe, 3 paddles and 3 life jackets. There is no water access from the site, so all watercrafts must be transported by vehicle. Ratchet straps will be provided to secure the canoe to your roof racks. The private wooded lot has everything you need for time spent in nature, whether you're looking for an adventure, or just a relaxing getaway. The spacious campsite has pull-through access for trailers, and space for up to 3 tents. The site is surrounded by a variety of tree and plant species while the quiet nights encourage visits from wildlife, including grouse, deer, moose, and turkeys. The campsite comes with a fire pit, a small screen tent, and a small shed for storing lawn chairs and other items. Tucked at the back of the property sits a comfortable and clean outhouse that was newly renovated and restored in Spring 2024. Hand sanitizer, air fresheners, and ventilation ensure the outhouse stays fresh. Garbage removal will be provided. Unlimited water for cleaning purposes will also be provided. Guests must bring their own potable water. The campsite is 5 minutes from small-town Maynooth, which is known for its unique vintage shops and selection of art studios and galleries. Also nearby is the Geocaching capital of Canada, the mineral capital of Canada (Bancroft), artists studio tours, and lots of ventures like the Madawaska Kanu Centre offering great water exeriences. While the site is not directly connected to any trails, a short stroll down the road leads to an access to Papineau Creek. Nearby old logging roads make for easy and accessible on-foot adventures. The Hastings Heritage trail is just down the highway. Whether you're looking for hiking trails, fishing holes, swimming spots, or places to adventure by watercraft, Campsite in the Pines has it all! Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. Please, - Leave it as you found it. I recently stayed at a campsite in Pine and had an excellent experience. The site was clean, well-maintained, and surrounded by beautiful nature. Gertie was friendly and helpful, ensuring everything was in order. The facilities, including the restrooms, were spotless. Whether you're hiking, fishing, or just relaxing, this campsite is a perfect getaway. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy the great outdoors!

Gertie is outstanding

Honestly, Gertie.... She made the entire trip. There was information I completely looked over I. E: we'd hv to figure out a way to bring the canoe over to the waters. That's a huge overlook, but Gertie came through. She was extremely helpful in many areas Esp since this was our first time camping more or less. I genuinely wish the best to Gertie and hope she gets guests that'll take care of that beautiful property. Thanks Gertie, can't wait to book it again! And thanks for going above and beyond for us. It was all so perfect.
