We live in a beautiful valley on 30 acres, that not many people know about. We're joined by 3 friendly dogs, 4 horses, 2 alpacas, 2 lovely Camels, Galloway cows and chooks, along with the resident wildlife including many birds, kangaroos, koalas, shy owls, and even an echidna! All this, plus beautiful views from atop our hills, right to the lake, and the delightful winter creek complete with frogs.
We are close to the McLaren Vale wine region as well as wineries throughout the Hills and 35 minutes to the coast of Victor Harbor. The Greenman Inn is 5 minutes down the road and has wonderful food from Wed to Sun if you do not feel the urge to cook with wood fires for the cold nights or a gorgeous outdoor area for the warmer months.
At present, we offer two areas for camping. Topspot which has lovely views and is quite secluded amongst the tree tops. This site is suitable for tents and camper trailers (need reasonable backing skills and 4WD)
The Laneway which is close to the babbling creek is suitable for those with a small caravan, or motorhome, 2WD etc, along with tent campers. (but would struggle with large caravans/motorhomes - please check with hosts)
(The Lookout/Highview has spectacular views Please note this site is currently closed due to stock rotation.)
If you have any doubts about which to book, please ask.
AUTUMN/WINTER MONTHS: if we receive considerable rain the trek up to the hill sites could become slippery and not accessible as it is a farm paddock, therefore unfortunately your booking may need to be cancelled.
NOTE: On our farm there is limited phone coverage in the valley (The Laneway).
Pets are welcome, however, please ensure they are kept under control (unless discussed with the host) at all times.
Please note: This is an active small farm, therefore work may need be continued throughout your stay possibly necessitating the use of machinery and tending to our livestock. If you wish to see some of the animals up close, please let us know and we will try to accommodate. We ask that all fires be contained within the fire pit provided and a portable toilet is available for your use.
BUSHFIRE SEASON: Wood and open fires are not permitted in the bushfire season, therefore you will not be able to use the fire pits.
This campsite offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with hosts who go the extra mile to make guests feel at home. Visitors appreciate the stunning views, peaceful environment, and the opportunity to interact with farm animals, which is particularly thrilling for children. Despite the open location near a road, traffic is minimal, ensuring a tranquil stay. Amenities are praised for being clean and well-maintained, enhancing the overall camping experience.
The host was incredible! He took the time to show us around his farm and introduce us to his animals. It was such a surprise to get to cuddle with the camels and touch the horses. The venue itself was lovely. We had a great time on the trip.
Noorla farm and ‘top spot’ in particular was an amazing place to stay. Beautiful views and nice isolated camping spot. Great hosts and great location. Couldn’t recommend more.
We absolutely loved our stay! The hosts went above and beyond and we're extremely friendly and kind. The ground were beautiful and well kept. We needed a place last minute, and they were more then happy to accommodate. Lovely property with plenty of beautiful wildlife and animals around. Will definitely return.
Overall it was a fantastic stay and we would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of staying.
From the moment we pulled up we were greeted with a smile and a lovely basket with fresh eggs, biscuits and lollies.
Our site was soft, level ground and the toilet was great to have on our site.
Saying hello and feeding the animals was a great surprise too.
Once again highly recommend.
