Seeing a need for adventure therapy in this area, we built the Compound to provide sensible solutions. We've created a rustic glamping site for retreats, reunions, and families to gather. Bring your camping gear or ask for accomadations that we can provide.
Eager to host you and give you all a tour of the Compound.
It has been a great creative outlet for me during this pandemic in hopes to offer opportunities to connect with nature and bring clarity on what truly matters in times like these.
Allow me to be your guide through the journey of healing through adventure therapy.
Be prepared for good vibes and healing energy from the trees that surround the CompoundHQ.org.
This is not a camping spot. This is a driveway between 2 buildings. None of it was clean. The bathroom house was disgusting. The sink was unusable because the spout was so close to the sink bowl. I felt the whole place was poorly rigged up. Right in front of the first building is the highway. Like 15 feet away from the camp spot. Then right behind the camp spot is another big building that was made into a house /air bnb (that house was extremely cluttered and looked as if someone lived there. Def. Not an air bnb as described) was a HUGE drop off bluff. Our kids had no where to even throw a small ball. It would either go in the road or down the bluff. We could have camped in our back yard for a WAY better experience :( the closest place to do anything was SEVERAL miles away
We had a great fishing trip! Michael’s place is conveniently located near Center Hill Lake and other local rivers. Our stay was easy. The cabins are rustic and simple. Having the bathhouse made our stay more comfortable. Both mornings we were visited by wild turkeys, which was fun. The woods all around the ridge were quiet and peaceful.
Overall this camp was very nice for a weekend getaway. The inside was beautiful and very homey. The host was super welcoming and knowledgeable about the location and offered us all of his boats to go kayaking, unfortunately had littles so we couldn’t. They also provided a pack and play, bedding, and the camp had utensils and pots and pans a grill and anything you’d need to prepare food. It was also very convenient having the washer and dryer. They truly wanted to provide the best experience!
The outside of camp could use a little improvement, the porch was flimsy and my friend fell through it, we did not feel safe walking over it to sit on the porch furniture. The fire ring was on a hill so couldn’t sit around the fire, and the camp is right beside a road, the pictures looked like it was in a secluded area alone. Also the hot tub wasn’t ready to be used yet.
The compound exceeded my expectations greatly. It was a very peaceful and cozy place to spend time. The wifi was reliable, the parking was easy, and Michael was a very attentive host. I'd definitely recommend this spot and hope to visit again myself again soon. :)
