Four spots for tent or vehicle camping are private, a short distance from owner resident on the property, shaded by young Live Oaks and cedars. Stacks of cedar trimmings around for campfire start, and plenty dead cedar branches to saw or break to gather for firewood for small personal camp fires or use a couple rings already established. Roads are quiet, good for morning walks. Pets allowed if kept close and picked up after. A single low table at each site to set stuff on. Composting toilet “outhouse” nearby. Carport-rain-harvested water tank nearby for wash water and one outlet for rechargeable. Shower spot for (your) sun-warmed 5 gallon shower bag with privacy wall. (Completed by April 24). Quiet area, as it is 12 miles to closest town, Wimberley, east, and Blanco, west. Dark night skies, no street lights. Dark Sky communities of Blanco, Wimberley and Dripping Springs keep it that way! * No trash service, kindly pack out what you pack in * Lightly travelled, back roads in area for short or longer bike rides. Pedernales Falls and Blanco River State Parks close by for swimming, hiking (biking trails at Pedernales). Jacobs Well, Blue Hole, Slime Bridge and Cypress Creek near Wimberley for swimming. Short, tranquil hike w art installations along trails at Gem of the Hills on acreage behind Community Ctr, north of Blanco, then visit Blanca de Oro in town for the BEST gelato made w locally raised, Water Buffalo milk Market Day in Blanco, 3rd Sat of month (ex Jan/Feb) ~ Marigold Fest and Lavender Fest in Blanco and nearby Arnosky Blue Barn for fresh farmed flowers, veggie transplants ~Mercer St., Hye and Kendalia dance halls nearby ~ Real Ale brewing base in Blanco (check website for biking, music and festivals)

This is a small camp in a mesquite forest best suited for tents and small vehicle campers. Eliza is very hospitable and available most of the time. The toilet is a composting system, and there is no shower facility.

We had a great time! Main site was big and open. Only about 20 minutes from Blanco River State Park.

Lovely Little Spot
Eliza was an awesome host, super responsive with lots of fantastic local recommendations for activities. The land is beautiful and we had the most gorgeous view of the stars and the sky. When the moon is full, the entire forest is lit up so magically. We did hear just a bit of noise sometimes, a few cars during the day and in the evening, the neighbor’s donkey far off, and the coyotes singing everyone to sleep. Nothing too disruptive but may be good to know for some. The composting toilet is awesome and way better than a portapotty, trust me! Overall this was such a lovely stay and I have some truly wonderful memories from this weekend forever. Thank you Eliza!
