A beautiful tranquil camping location on a picturesque crater lake in the south West of Victoria. A working farm you will be close to nature... cows, sheep, trees, birds even koalas! Lake Keilambete is surrounded by farm land so this is the only way to experience this salt lake...no fish but you can float your cares away!! Come and enjoy an amazing location!Site is a 1 acre fenced site on the shores of Lake Keilambete, a volcanic salt crater lake. Amenities on site include water, hot showers and flushing toilet...but all tank water so be water wise! Jetty onsite and a dip in the healing properties of the lake will make you feel amazing! Sunrise and sunset view free of charge. Open to the elements remember one day can be still and calm...others are wild and windy! But an amazing place and the only place to experience it 🙏

Campers rave about this campsite, emphasizing its peaceful and scenic environment. The lake, although salty, provides a refreshing swim, and the amenities are top-notch, including a hot shower and clean toilets. Visitors appreciate the privacy and the warm hospitality of the hosts, Bruce and Michelle. Some have pointed out the lake's saltiness affecting their skin, but overall, the site offers a relaxing retreat with plenty of space for dogs to roam.

Bruce and Michelle are the most amazing people we met during Hipcamp! We feel so welcomed on their farm. We LOVE everything about this campsite. I have never had a favourite campsite so far, but Faraway Lodge is my favourite now!

Lovely secluded and completely private location away from main house, beautiful view of the lake which was really fun to kayak on. The sound of the gentle waves was so nice to fall asleep to. Dog-friendly and my dog adored the place. Host was friendly too.

I recently stayed at this super chill campsite, and it was exactly what I needed. It had such a relaxed vibe, with cows just hanging out nearby, which made everything feel calm and laid-back. It was the perfect spot to just kick back and enjoy being outdoors. The best part was the salt lake with a jetty that stretched out into the water. It was so peaceful, and the jetty was the perfect place to just sit and take in the views. The shed had a fridge, kettle, sink and all with hot rain water. The fire pit was located close to the shed and the land was flat. If you’re looking for a low-key, beautiful location, this place is definitely worth checking out.

Bruce is a great host. The land is private and well maintained. The water, although not able to put your head under for the salt, is still refreshing. As long as you can bring your own Sun/rain shelter, the site is great.

Absolutely beautiful campsite and great to have a clean toilet and hot shower. The weather was against us for this trip but the scenery made up for it. My dog had an absolute ball being able to run around.

It was a wonderful spot. A special treat was the green grass that Bruce keeps watered. We could walk barefooted which was great for little children. The hut had everything we needed and the ground was flat. It was very hot but the lake cooled us down. It’s quite salty and some people found it affected their skin. The views were stunning and peaceful
