The property is home to an array of animals and birds and a rocky fresh stream.  The Stream Campsites are located by the stream. We cater for tents and kombi-vans but not Winnebagos or large caravans. Sorry dogs are not permitted. Campfires are permitted as long as it's not in fire restriction periods. Firewood will be provided at your site free of charge. There is no rubbish or recycling service in the countryside or on farms. Please wash and take all glass, plastic, and metal with you.  We recommend you prepare for a ‘garbage-free’ holiday, with lots of Tupperware and unpackaged food. You are welcome to leave food scraps for happy chickens and compost.  You may also leave burnables, such as paper and cardboard, for our bonfire. As we are a family-oriented campsite, we do appreciate knowing the names and ages of the guests we are welcoming onto our property. When booking, please let us know the names of all guests in your booking party. We look forward to welcoming you to our little slice of paradise!

Farm life at its best

We absolutely loved staying at the GardenFarm cottage. Bob is such an incredible host and made us feel right at home. We got to swim in a waterfall, roast marshmallows on the fire and our little two year old got to feed the chickens which was her absolute highlight. We were welcomed by a beautiful home made bread, some wonderful fresh chicken eggs and some delicious home grown spinach. Beautiful time to rest and reset in the country.

Returning again!
This was our third trip back to Gardenfarm and Walden cottage. Each time it seems to become more beautiful and relaxing. It was so good to see Bob - thank you again for your kindness and generosity! Our girls love to visit and this time was so special meeting Penny! I highly recommend a stay at Walden cottage - and I have no doubt we’ll be back again!

We loved the natural beauty of the surrounding green hills and lush vegetation. The free ranging sheep, cows, chickens, geese and bonnie the sheep dog were welcome guests amongst our tents. The kids loved the natural pond and all the frogs and even had a swim or two on hot days. The nearby creek was also great fun for the kids.

That site was quiet and beautiful, but the farm was too far from everything.

Nice place for kids to experience farm life and being next to the stream was refreshing. The campground and facilities are shared with lots of other people hence was a bit dirty, long wait times, at times lacked hot water and full of dead insects. The shower head was broken on the first night but was quickly fixed the next day. There were also animal 💩 everywhere so be sure to bring a scoop to clear them out before setting up the tent. Overall, it was a good experience.
