Redbank farm has been home to five generations of Superfine Merino wool Farmers. The charming homestead is set on 1000 acres of rolling hills, lush trees, and dams that offer plentiful grazing to sheep and cattle. Metcalfe's rural landscape still remains largely untouched, giving a real feeling of freedom and fresh air, filled with wildlife and sensational scenic adventures to enjoy, like the stunning cascades just up the road. Redbank offers sites across 200 acres of land, SITE 1 a main area offers 4 large sites suited to campers wanting to be super close to toilet, shower, camp kitchen, and playgrounds, which is a major hit with the kids making it a popular spot for families. The camp kitchen has dining space and barbecue facilities. There are about 6 paddock sites that are still within walking distance to all facilities but are nicely spread out to provide guests with there own space. We have 4 sites that you will either need to be a self-sufficient camper, or keen for a hike to facilities as these sites offer a lot more privacy and would need 4wD to access. 2 more sites that you must completely self sufficient and have 4wd skills. We are a no trace camp ground and ask you to take all waste with you when you leave. Dogs are permitted in camps but must be kept on a leash to protect our livestock. Redbank is a working Farm and you will likely see or hear evidence of this during your stay, but we are very considerate of our campers and have had a wonderful experience sharing our land so far and had very happy campers. BEYOND REDBANK156 Campers will find many more attractions in the area, Great spots for hiking, swimming, fishing or just straight up relaxing in the serenity. TRUPENS waterfalls are close by CASCADES and the Coliban River runs through Metcalfe AND EPPOLOCK just up the road. A short drive of 10-15min in all directions will take you to one of the funky little historic towns Kyneton, Castlemaine, Redesdale, and Malmsbury, and another 15 mins on to Daylesford and Trentham all filled with brilliant restaurants, cafes, vineyards, vibrant retail and market scene. What more could you possibly need for a great getaway?

Nice Place for a weekend trip
The camp sites are far apart from one another so lots of privacy, it was a great for groups and couples alike. Also good for first timer campers who still desire the comforts of flush toilets and shower but would like to live in a tent

We had a great stay at Redbank campsite. There was plenty of space between sites and so much cool artwork around the place. Crystal was very helpful and responsive and signage to get around was great. Thanks Crystal!

WHAT A FIND!
Our small group really enjoyed camping here at the Hilltop Woods campsite. The site was nice & grassy, as were all the other sites on the property. We had shade beneath the gum trees & great 360° views over the hilly farmland. The night sky was brilliant. We had a large sized fire pit, surrounded by stones & deep enough for safety so embers don't get scattered about if it gets a bit blowy. The fire had two long timber bench seats around it, so you don't have to always be dragging your chairs around. You can buy 2 or 3 days of firewood for $30. The other campsites were hundreds of metres away, sometimes barely visible since they were just over a hill or up on on another hill or in a gully, so we had a great sense of privacy. There's a centrally located camp kitchen with a BBQ, electricity and water with a couple of tables & chairs. It's a bit rough, but you can get the job done...and it's camping - if you want flash go to a Big 4! The toilet near our site was a standard portaloo like what you'd get on a building site. It was fine to use. The toilet near the camp kitchen needs work on the flushing volume since it gets clogged easily, but there's a big water tank above the loo, so perhaps the owners could improve that aspect. Crystal was a good host & we all agreed this place was a great find. We're looking forward to coming back to relax & explore the area.

My favourite Hipcamp we’ve been to - we had so much space for the kids to play sports & run around. Could hardly see or hear other campers, we were all so spread out. Will definitely return. Absolutely loved it.

Camping with sheep
We loved camping at Redbank156 for the weekend. The block of land is amazing with tons of space between campers. The facilities were good, just a drive away
