Riverside is a picturesque and tranquil part of Balham Hill Cattle Station, a 580-acre working Black Angus cattle station in the Molesworth Township. This idyllic location offers direct access to the scenic Goulburn River, which serves as a perfect backdrop for a variety of outdoor activities. Just 700 meters away along Recreation Reserve Road, you’ll find the Molesworth Hotel and General Store, a charming spot to enjoy a delicious meal or unwind in their welcoming outdoor dining area.
The Goulburn River, located right at your doorstep, is a haven for fishing enthusiasts, offering excellent opportunities to catch trout, Murray cod, and yellowbelly. Canoeing, hiking, and exploring local historical sites are also popular activities, and in the warmer months, swimming is a favourite among visitors.
For those who love outdoor adventures, the Great Victorian Rail Trail runs through Molesworth, making it an ideal location for bike riding or a peaceful stroll in the afternoon or evening—an experience not to be missed. Nature lovers will also enjoy the abundance of wildlife in the area, with kangaroos, echidnas, wombats, and the occasional deer making an appearance. Riverside truly offers a serene and enriching environment for both relaxation and adventure.
Greg was an absolute legend! Had a great stay by the river, with a trip to Jacks falls from Greg’s recommendation. Walking distance to a great pub/cafe with great coffee.
We had a fantastic weekend away. The site was right next to the river and only a short walk to the Molesworth Pub. We meet our hosts Greg and Kylie, very nice people. Would highly recommend staying there.
Fantastic property on the river and walking distance to the pub. In all the years I have used Hipcamp I’ve never had property owners put as much effort into making sure their guests have such a good time 24/7. We will be back
We loved camping at this spot right on the river - beautiful.
Awesome Easter camping! Respectful, quiet campsites along the rivers edge. Only a short walk to the pub and general store and for a longer walk the great Victorian rail trail. Greg met us on arrival and was a great host, also checked in with everyone once set up. Firewood for $50 was handy as nothing lying around. Highly recommend!
This was a great location by the Goulburn River, clean, flat with ample shade from trees. Located just off of the main road, where there is a general store should you forget any supplies.
Every camping group was respectful, clean and friendly.
Another bonus was that it was pet friendly in addition our two year old boy also enjoyed his first camping trip in a tent.
Would definitely reccomend and will be back.
