Nestled among towering mountain ash trees along the Mt Baw Baw Tourist Road in West Gippsland lies the tiny off-grid hamlet of Tanjil Bren. Our cabin offers the perfect base to explore this stunning region or simply relax by the fire. It’s ideal for families, couples, or small groups of friends. The cabin is powered by batteries charged with solar panels and uses bottled gas for cooking and hot water. Please read the listing details carefully before booking. Enjoy a unique and peaceful mountain escape surrounded by a majestic eucalyptus forest in the tranquil village of Tanjil Bren. Located just 25 minutes from Mt Baw Baw and surrounded by numerous walking tracks, this is an excellent spot to unwind and explore the local area. The cabin has three large bedrooms that can sleep up to six people. It features a large gas oven and cooktop, a bathroom with a shower and toilet, and a spacious deck with a BBQ and outdoor dining table. For entertainment, guests can enjoy a selection of board games, books, puzzles, a TV, and a DVD player with an extensive DVD library. The cabin is kept warm by a wood combustion heater, and wood, kindling, and firelighters are provided. The property is pet-friendly. Although it is not fully fenced, the deck area is secure with gates. We ask that pets are not left unsupervised for extended periods, and note that pets are not allowed in the Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort. Follow us on Instagram: [@tanjilbrencabin](https://www.instagram.com/tanjilbrencabin). We supply enough wood, kindling, and firelighters for your stay. If you plan to use the fire pit, please gather additional wood locally. There are no shops in Tanjil Bren, so we recommend bringing all necessary supplies, including enough fuel for your return trip. As the cabin is off-grid and runs on solar-powered batteries, we kindly ask guests to conserve power and avoid bringing additional appliances such as heaters, hair dryers, or cooking devices. The system is not equipped to charge electric vehicles. Mobile phone and internet reception are limited, with slightly better coverage through Telstra. This makes Tanjil Bren the perfect place to disconnect and reconnect with nature and loved ones. However, we now offer Wi-Fi for added convenience.
