Escape to Turramurra “Big Hill” Farm, nestled in the tranquil Bonnie Doon Valley. Immerse yourself in nature as you camp in our peaceful back paddocks, waking up to the soothing sounds of native birds. Set up near our seasonal creeks and enjoy the calming flow of water as it weaves through the stunning landscape. During your stay, there’s plenty to explore! Hike up the Big Hill for breathtaking views, cycle along the nearby Great Victorian Rail Trail, or unwind with a cold beer and a classic parma at the iconic Bonnie Doon Pub. For water enthusiasts, Lake Eildon offers excellent fishing opportunities. In the warmer months, launch your boat from a nearby ramp for a day of water skiing or wakeboarding. All this and more awaits you, just a short drive from your campsite. We welcome you to our place and look forward to sharing our piece of paradise within the beautiful High Country. The property is shared by our family home, so we require our guests to be considerate of noise, especially between the hours of 10pm - 7am. We have 2 campsites available There are no bathroom amenities here. Guests will need to be self-contained, take waste with them and leave no trace. For an extra charge a porta loo can be supplied (the cost will depend on the number of days for the loo). Access to water is possible from a tap at the main house to fill containers, etc. Small campfires allowed when the Mansfield District is not within the fire danger period. Access to the Great Victorian Rail Trail is just 3 kms away. Peddle or drive to Bonnie Doon Township (8kms) where you can access Lake Eildon, Bonnie Doon Hotel, Shell Service Station with basic supermarket amenities, public toilets. Mansfield - 20min drive (29km) Euroa - 36min drive (45km) Alexandra - 32min drive (45km) Dogs are allowed but MUST remain on a leash at all times. This site is located close to fully operational livestock properties which maintain a comprehensive fox and wild dog baiting program.

The Lightning Tree camp site was a great space with plenty of parking options for both the caravan and rooftop set ups. The site was easy to access. A very relaxing location to camp and just minutes away from Bonnie Doon. A 20 minute drive to Mansfield for golf, market, cafe and pubs etc.

A peaceful place

Such a beautiful place to stay next to a charming little creek (dry in Summer) with glorious gumtrees along the creek & dotted throughout the paddock. It is so peaceful & relaxing with lovely views of nearby hills and cows grazing. Waking up to the iconic magpies warbling their songs in the morning to kookaburra’s ‘laughing’ in the evening. A beautiful chorus of birds to enjoy.

Danii and Ro are great hosts. Full of local knowledge and suggestions on how to fill your days. The campsite itself is peaceful with the occasional local cow and bird life. Thanks for having us.

Absolutely beautiful spot. Could sit there and look across at the surrounding hills all day, just enjoying the peace and quiet. Very helpful hosts and close to both Bonnie Doon and Mansfield if you are looking to explore a little bit of the area. Really enjoyed our time here and really hope we can make it back.
