Our forty acre family farm is the historic Mason County Poor Farm. Gosnell creek runs through the center of the property, with riparian forest buffer restoration and a blueberry patch on opposite banks. A herd of about 30 Khatadin sheep graze the pastures. About a mile of trails are available for you to explore the pastures, riparian areas and working woodlands. This site is only for folks who are traveling by bike. Car camping is not allowed. Set up your tent under the walnut tree or the big cedars. You will find a table for food preparation and have access to water and a sawdust toilet. We will get you orientated if you would like to visit the animals or walk on the farm trails. A dip in the creek is a great way to rinse off the road dust.

Very quiet and unique place. First time I'd used a sawdust toilet, but it's not as weird as you'd think. Loved the friendly dog, and appreciated the table and camp chairs the host set out. We saw the creek and walked over the bridge, but couldn't see a good way to actually get into the water, so we didn't. If there is a way, some more clarification on that would be helpful.

We had such a peaceful stay at your farm! Thank you for the chats and for all the amenities you shared with two tired cyclists :) This was the perfect place to stop—it saved us from an unmanageably long day. Playing with your lovely dogs was a huge bonus! Thank you so much!

Sheep’s, streams and shelter!
Tent
Amazing couple with a very welcoming setup. We were having trouble finding a place to stay in the area while cycling south on our bikes and this place was a savior. It was a beautiful farm with a very comfortable and secluded tent area. We given a tour of the property which had everything we needed as tired cyclist to rejuvenate for the night. And the $5 biker rate was very generous. Amazing place for any cyclist traveling in the area.

Bustling Orchard/Chicken Yard
Tent
This is a beautiful, relaxed rural idyll. The property is pretty big, and has a walking path, a blueberry patch, farm animals etc. The Orchard site that we booked is also the active chicken and duck yard, which means a lot of bird poop, the rooster in the morning etc. There are quieter, more private spots on the back end, but by the time we discovered them the 5 yo in the group was too attached to the animals to be removed peaceably. Definitely suggest getting one of those if you want a more peaceful visit. Katrinka is a great host. Very responsive to messages, flexible about logistics, generous and friendly. They have a wonderful farm dog who is a very sweet girl.

Old Poor Farm is a Rich Experience
Tent
Wonderful farm and Katrinka was a great hostess. A dip in the creek was very refreshing after our hot bicycle ride. After walking the farm trails and seeing the large blueberry patch we decided to pick blue berries. What a treat to have them for the rest of our bike trip. We decided to have a campfire after all. She supplied everything we would need, paper, matches, dry kindling and dry firewood. We appreciated the benches by the fire pit and the near by table. It was fun to see the animals. A couple of donkeys guard the sheep. There was a hammock but we decided to use the tent site.

Quaint and quiet farm on the end of a road, complete with sheep, donkeys, chickens, and even some free-range ducks strolling through the property. A private feeling in the middle of a small apple orchard, and the hosts are incredibly welcoming and accommodating.
