Located 5 minutes from the Forrest Highway and less than 10 minutes' drive to the beautiful and popular Herron Point. The farm offers the country lifestyle without travelling for hours. With 54 acres of native bush and pasture, a beautiful dam with an island combined with an abundance of natural wildlife. Come and enjoy the delights.
The campsites are private with a fire pit provided and you are welcome to collect wood from around the property. Fires are prohibited between 1st Dec and 31st March inclusive.
While the main entrance is on Old Bunbury Road, most campsites are accessed from Dutchman Road. We have invested monies earnt back into the sites by way of limestone all weather tracks, fire pits and irrigation for the warmer months which also helps to mitigate the risk and impact of bushfires.
The Northern half of the property is a combination of pasture and native trees, while the Southern half is native bush. Guests are welcome to roam the entire property with the exception of the owner's residence and sheds.
This campsite is a favorite among visitors for its spacious sites, peaceful environment, and close proximity to natural attractions like Preston Beach and Herron Point. The presence of friendly animals like emus and alpacas adds a unique charm to the stay. The host, Paul, is consistently praised for being welcoming and helpful, ensuring a pleasant camping experience. However, some guests noted the lack of complete privacy between sites and the occasional noise from sprinklers.
Great hosts great spot. Sites are not 100% private. As there are a few sites you drive past and see. However good distance between sites. Great location and Paul was fantastic to deal with.
Nice locations in general. Was pretty hot there, but it was generally nice and quiet. Not too far to Preston beach which was needed to cool off. Loved listening to the birds and looking at the stars. The unimpeded milky way was awesome.
Great spot, site was huge, it was quiet and a good distance from other sites. We had a daily visit from a gorgeous emu, there was a beautiful family of alpacas to watch and plenty of bird life. The owner (Paul) was nice and friendly and dropped by to say Hi. Highly recommend this spot, we'll be back :)
The Herron Point Farm Stay was well located for our weekend away exploring the Peel region. Our camp-site, No. 3, was nice and shady. All the campsites were well spread out so we felt quite secluded from other campers. The hosts were friendly as were the emus and alpacas. A nice place to stay.
