This property has been in the Shine family for many generations. The property has primarily been used for beef cattle farming, although in the early 2000's was shortly used to milk sheep, along with corn cropping. Currently the farm is home to roughly 100 breeders so you might be lucky enough to see a few cute little calves running around.Roeland's Lookout Retreat is nestled away in a tranquil and quiet location. The location is situated on a working beef cattle farm.
Our "Lookout" site is located at the top of the property and gives a stunning view of the whole farm
We are also just 20 minutes from Bunbury where you can find plenty of beautiful beaches and sites to explore.
Campers are required to be self-sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure.
Campfires are welcome in the evenings, pending there are no restrictions in place at the time of your stay.
Whether you're looking for a great place to stop for the night if your on your way down south, or make a family weekend out of it, come see what's on offer.
**Please note, there is no access to the river from this site, there is a small creek at the bottom of the hill but don’t mistake this for the river, this is only accessible with our “riverside” site.

The Lookout offers a stunning and tranquil camping experience with breathtaking views of the valley and nearby creek. Most campers enjoy the peaceful solitude and the chance to watch sunrises and sunsets, though some find the uneven ground challenging for tents. A few reviews mention minor issues such as gate maintenance and noise from nearby roads, but these don't seem to significantly detract from the overall enjoyment. Visitors appreciate the ease of access and the privacy of the site, making it a popular choice for those seeking a quiet getaway.

Great spot near Bunbury. Easy to find, just off main road. Wide open spot- private. Ground is bumpy as has been mentioned - didn’t bother us but probably not too suitable for tents. Lovely lookout- will return!

The site is well located, peaceful with an excellent view. The ground is level but very uneven and rough with many deep ruts. The gate chains need some attention as they are difficult to unfasten. The “Lookout” sign at the second gate has fallen down.
As such we felt the site is somewhat overpriced.

Absolutely magical place, we loved every minute of our 2 night stay. Loved seeing the grazing cows in the paddock and the stunning sunrise/sunset, thoroughly recommend and can’t wait to come back.

A hidden gem
5 m pop-up camper
We recently stayed at the Lookout , and it was an absolute dream. The raised campsite looking across the creek at grazing cattle and rolling hills is spectacular, plenty of native birds and sensational sunrises. Easy to find, easy access and relaxed hosts make this a campsite you will want to visit again and again
