Named one of the best Hipcamps to visit in 2024.
Nambung is a 5,000 acre working cattle farm 2 hours north from Perth. We are surrounded by the Nambung National Park so there is always plenty of wildlife to see and wildflowers in season. We have a caravan park with powered or unpowered sites and onsite caravans for hire.
Dog friendly (must be on a leash at all times). Toilets and shower amenities for guests.
The campsite offers a spacious and serene environment that is ideal for families, with plenty of room for children to play and opportunities for animal feeding. Guests appreciated the friendly and helpful hosts, as well as the well-maintained facilities including clean toilets and showers. However, some noted that the camp kitchen could use better maintenance and warned about windy conditions. The remote location provides a peaceful escape, but it also means visitors should come prepared with supplies, as there are no nearby shops.
There is plenty of space and the ground is patchy but level. There are small trees but not big enough to provide much shade. The ablutions are quite clean but the camp kitchen has rather a lot of webs.
I would strongly suggest making use of the provided windbreak if you are tenting.
The camp kitchen area needs a good clean and a bit of an upgrade. It all looks like it's been put together on a bit of a shoe string. Water in showers was lovely and hot. I did try another duct, but that was the same
Had an overnight stay at Nambung - facilities were clean, tidy and being a quiet part of the year there was plenty of space for our tent. My only caution to others planning to stay is that it's quite a drive from the pinnacles, and there are lots of roadworks on the access road due to the new mine.
The camp ground was OK, spots were spaces out which was great. Unfortunately, there were road works on the road to Cervantes which made the trip longer, but hopefully it will make it quicker in the future. The facilities were clean.
