The mighty Ord River is one of Western Australia's most scenic and significant waterways. At various points along its length you can go cruising and canoeing between stunning gorges, see crocodiles and amazing birdlife, catch an elusive barramundi, go swimming and jet skiing.
The Aboriginal meaning for the word Kununurra is "big waters" or the "meeting of the waters".
This property is located on farmland high on a range overlooking the stunning Ord Valley. There are two main campsite locations, each with its own amazing views and all well away from each other.
Nearby you will find the Ord River for fishing activities and very close by are examples of local Indigenous art. The property is home to some friendly poddy calves and hundreds and hundreds of stunning boab trees.
The peace, serenity and safety is amazing. You will be a 10 minute drive from the centre of Kununurra but a world away from the stresses of life. The farm is 780Ha so you will not be in each other’s way.
Campers must be self-contained with own camping toilet/shower and water supply. There is no water or power facilities available out here.
Please note that no open fires are allowed, all fires must be in the designated fire pit. Your pet dog is welcome to join you.
We loved our week on Simone’s farm. We were on a hill with views north and west - great sunrises and sunsets. Absolutely private. The only visitors were the occasional wallaby.
We stayed a week here, using it as a base to do day trips in and around Kununurra.
Marvellous location - VERY private with stunning views of the valley and sunsets. The host Simone was marvellous. Thoroughly recommended for anyone visiting Kununurra and doesn’t want the stress of being jammed into caravan parks.
Absolutely loved our stay at Ord Valley Delight. The scenery was magnificent Simone was great. It was so peaceful and serene. Star gazers delight we would've taken 1000 pictures. We loved camping Off-Grid at Eagle’s nest for 2 nights with AMAZING sunrises and sunsets overlooking the mountains and farms on the west.
Simone is so friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again.
We swam in the recently dug oasis to cool down (Check with Simone) and we went for day trips to explore Kununurra.
So many birds around and saw some kangaroos at night.
