What an amazing place to camp in Sydney! Truly remarkable. Beautiful campsite and first class amenities like hot showers and a great kitchen. We also did a guided tour which I can’t recommend highly enough - so fascinating and brought a much deeper level of meaning to our trip. I also really enjoyed the mobility yoga class, be sure to ask if they’re offering it. Amazing getaway for families, solo campers, history buffs or someone just wanting to test out gear and have an adventure!
What a cool experience! Catching the ferry over was really easy and there are some beautiful views of the harbour. My Deluxe Waterfront tent had a great view of the water and was decked out with stretcher beds, bedding, camp chairs & towels. The bathroom & camp kitchen facilities are great - clean & stocked with all you need! The island has an interesting history and I really recommend doing a tour.
Thank you for having us, Sharon & team!
Loved my stay at Cockatoo Island! Such a unique place to camp. The facilities, like the fully equipped camp kitchen and the bathrooms with hot showers, were super convenient and kept spotless the whole time. The stretcher bed was really comfy, and it was awesome having everything provided—towels, bedding, chairs, soap, you name it! The harbour views were stunning, and I loved getting to explore the island and learn about its history.
This is my second stay here. It’s such a great spot. Easy to access from Circular Quay. The hot showers are great and the camp kitchen is a treat with instant hot water, microwave, toaster. Such a great way to stay in the city without feeling like you’re in the city. Sharon and the team are such great Host.
Truly a once in a lifetime, must-do experience - an oasis of relaxation in the middle of Sydney Harbour. Access to the island is super straightforward, and booking a deluxe waterfront package allows for packing light without compromising on comfort. Full amenities, incl. hot showers (always a luxury when camping!). Brekkie and lunch available at two different cafes, BYO dinner - eskies provided in this package to keep perishables cool, and well-resourced camp kitchen available for meal prep/cooking. Make sure to book a guided tour to learn more about the island's history!
Stayed at the Waterfront Deluxe campsite on Cockatoo Island, and it was incredible! Waking up to stunning harbour views and the sound of waves was magical. The pre-pitched tent was super comfy with a proper bed, bedding, and towels—felt like glamping. Facilities were clean and well-maintained, with hot showers and BBQ areas. Exploring the island's historic convict sites and tunnels added a unique touch. Perfect for a relaxing yet adventurous getaway! Also the staff on the island are so friendly!
