My property is just under 4 acres, with a dam and a small orchard area. It's a small piece of paradise just 7km out of Beaufort, and conveniently situated between the Western Highway and the Sunraysia Highway. The campsite is located at the far end of the property, and borders the Waterloo Bushland Reserve and Reservoir, with plenty of options for bushwalking. Waterloo was formerly an old gold mining town and now attracts gold detectors. The property is on a slight rise and the views over the farmland and beyond are beautiful. It is an ideal spot for people passing through to pull up for the night, or spend a day or two relaxing in peaceful country. Campers need to be fully self-contained. I do however have drinking water available. You are welcome to have a campfire weather permitting. Kangaroos come down in the evening to feed, and I also have several sheep on the property, so whilst I allow pets, they must be kept under control. Beaufort is a short drive away, where you'll find essentials including a supermarket, chemist, cafes, op shops and hotels. The house is only minutes from the campsite but your privacy is assured and I am certainly available to assist you if needed.

If you're up for an explore of the region we're 35 minutes' away from Halls Gap and the zoo, 43 minutes from McKenzies Falls and 45 minutes from the Ararat Hills National Park where you can enjoy mountain bike trail riding. The site has flat, grassy ground. Campfires permitted (wood provided) and you can bring your own generator. Please read all the info before you book... This is an ideal spot for a quiet getaway or as a home base if you want to explore the surrounding areas of Dunolly or Dunolly itself. Early mornings and late evenings you may be lucky to receive visits from Kangaroos. Camp freely around the designated campfire and enjoy an amazing star-gazing experience (on clear nights). The water hole is good for yabbies and great for skipping stones. We swim in it occasionally but prefer to go to the lake. We cannot endorse any swimming or entering the water hole as it is a liability issue and we cannot be responsible for anyone who chooses to swim or enter the area of the waterhole. Dunolly town has a great bakery, a pub, and a supermarket. Lake Laanacoorie 15 mins drive. Great for fishing, boats, and swimming. ***Pit-toilet (portable) available: - There is a pit toilet available for camper use but it's recommended to have a portaloo and use the onsite dunny as an emergency only. ***Keep Clean. -We ask that you take any rubbish with you when you leave. We would appreciate it if you could leave the property as you found it on arrival. ***Warning. -Regular pest control in the area might be a threat to your pet so please ensure that your pet does not stray too far off the property without your supervision. Pest control is usually concentrated in the state forest behind the property. ***Fire Wood: - You can BYO firewood or collect from the roadside. The state forest at the rear may be helpful but please don't cut down any trees. There is often a fallen tree that you can chop up if you have a chainsaw but it'll be easier to find on the roadside or BYO. If I'm able to provide firewood it'll be stacked but this is not something to depend on as it just depends on availability and time that I may not have. ***More info. -The campsite is close to the water hole which means it's also at the front of the property and approx 120m from the main road. You will see a vehicle passing by maybe once per hour in the daytime.

We are so excited to add out two girls Little Pattie (red and built in 1963) and Peggy Sue (mint and built in 1959). As soon as we get the toilet and shower ready, they will be listed. We also have ordered wood fired hot tubs that should arrive by Easter. We have heaps of animals -goats, sheep, horses, miniature horses, dogs, cats, and pigs. We have two milking goats We have fresh eggs in season. We can supply fresh rain water. There are two dams, which could have yabbies (we did put them in there). Locally, there are many attractions which you can see and do. Ballarat and Ararat are approximately 30 minutes either way. Ararat has the historic J Ward for the criminally insane, and Aradale Asylum. The Grampians National Park is 1 hour away. Skipton Rail Trail is close by as well. Beaufort has cafes, Op Shops, pubs, galleries and all the takeaway regulars. Beaufort Market is currently not running, Avoca (40 minutes away) is the fourth Sunday and the huge Talbot Market (40 minutes away) is the third Sunday in the month. Dogs are welcome, as long as they don’t chase the animals. There are no facilities here, but we will have a toilet and shower for the March long weekend, and we are hiring a portable toilet for the Pyrenees Hideaway.

$54/night for 2 people. Remote farm at the end of a road, no neighbours, and spectacular views of the Grampians (Gariwerd) that is most stunning in the morning as the sun hits Mt William. One camp site (one group only). The site accepts 8 people but if you are just two people you will have the place to yourselves except for the kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas and birdlife. The campsite is situated next to our family's holiday farmhouse that we visit sometimes, but only when there are no guest campers. There is a fire pit with grill plates available to cook over the fire (note open fires cannot occur when fire restrictions are in place). Campers have access to the flush toilet, hot shower and kitchen in the house. The house is a work in progress. We are slowly renovating the house, so it is a bit rough but it is clean and functional and you will have the place to yourselves. Please respect the locked private areas of the house. Campers are expected to bring their own cooking pots, plates, cutlery, camp chairs, etc. Only 4 km from Moyston where you can get great coffee and visit the historic Mine Walk. Halls Gap is 35km away or head through the mountains over Redmans Road that takes you the scenic route to Halls Gap (2WD accessible in dry weather). Kalymna Falls and picnic ground is a beautiful 15 min bush drive from the farm. In the cooler months, the land turns from shades of gold to greens.  There are no facilities, its just you and the land (bliss!) so ensure you have everything you need with you, and take all your waste when you leave.  If you fancy fresh fish for dinner, just down the road is Tuki Trout Farm, or nearby Cairn Curran Reservoir and Tullaroop Reservoir are great for fishing. The tourist villages of Newstead, Clunes and Maldon are all a short drive away, and Daylesford is just 35km drive.  Campfires are permitted when fire bans are not in place. NOTE: We do offer the neighbouring 50-acre paddock for hunting/shooting - with conditions. We have 5 sites to offer at Sundar Goldfields Camping. Our 50 acre property features undulating bushland with views of farmlands, wetlands and distant mountains. The name is Hindi for "beautiful". Our rammed earth home sits in the middle of the property and our camping sites are located between our house and the road into the property. We are situated halfway between Maldon and Castlemaine with easy access to both these two interesting towns that attract many tourists to the region. Campers are required to be self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. The individual sites are called Wetlands 1, 2 and 3 (blue signs), Mountain View (green signs), Gully View (purple signs), The Ridge (orange signs) and Billabong 1 and 2 (yellow signs) . It is unlikely you will hear other guests as there is a good distance between sites. The largest site is Mountain View and can accommodate the most number of guests and is well suited to caravans. Wetlands View has 3 different site options that all overlook the large dam and birdlife that frequent the wetlands. You can select the one that feels right for you. On the other side of the dam is the two Billabong sites. Billabong 2 is open and close to the road, it can accommodate a large group plus caravans. Billabong 1 is a small site that is set in the bush and overlooks the paddock and dam. Gully View and The Ridge are near each other and are secluded and surrounded by bushland. These sites do not have water views and the entrance is located 60m from the front gate, on the right side of our road into the property. Kangaroos and cockatoos are regular visitors to our property. Bird life is abundant and we sometimes see Echidnas and Shingleback lizards. It is a peaceful area and close to the steam train track so the train can be heard in the distance on the days that the Victorian Goldfields Railway service runs. There are great walks from the property towards the Maldon-Castlemaine rail trail. We supply firewood, if required, and camp fires are allowed at certain times of the year. Reg has great knowledge about our native animals/birds plus gold prospecting and is available to chat if you what to hear his yarns. Simply let us know and he will visit whilst you are camping. He also offers tuition on gold prospecting.
