Eden Ranch

7 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents21 acres · Livingston, TX
Eden Ranch is first and foremost a naturist retreat. Located on 21 private and secluded acres, we have room for both tent campers and RVers with a full bathhouse that includes a hot tub, outdoor shower, sink area and toilet facilities. There are horses, cows, potbelly pigs, rabbits, chickens, dogs and cats if your family loves animals. There is also an above ground pool for when the weather is warmer. Pitch a tent, sit by the campfire, take a hike in the woods, relax in the hammock, read a book, soak in the hot tub or do nothing at all...the choice is up to you. Nearby are antique shops, fishing on Lake Livingston or the Trinity River, hike or bike ride the Sam Houston National Forest trails or play pool or go bowling in town. Naskila Casino is only 8 miles to the east of us on the Alabama Coushata Indian Tribe Reservation. If you're looking for nothing to do but relax or if you're looking for lots of fun and activity we've got easy access to both. What makes Eden Ranch unique is that all of our activities here on the ranch are clothing optional / naturist friendly. In fact, the hot tub and pool are nude only...no swimsuits allowed. On the warmer days most of the host family will be enjoying the property as God intended...naked and not ashamed as well. If nudity offends you, this is not the place to visit. We will not allow or condone any inappropriate or illegal activity anywhere on the ranch. Any violation of this policy will result in immediate escort off the property.

The Rock Pit

10 sites · RVs, Tents100 acres · Groveton, TX
Learn more about this land: The Rock Pit is a 5 acre swimming hole located in Trinity County that has been there over 50 years. Long ago they had dug out an area on a hill for rock on the dirt roads, and hit and underground water table. There are no fish in the Rock Pit, as the pH is 4.5, so no fish will live in it. I recall swimming there as a small boy, and wanted to share my memories with others. Depth ranges all over, but the deep end is around 15 feet. I have 5 kayaks currently, but bring yours if you have them, along with your vests. There is fishing in Lake Livingston, my place is north of it. There is access to Lake Livingston via White Rock Creek. A public boat ramp in on Highway 94, just outside Trinity. Or you can go back towards Trinity, to highway 357 and go to a ramp closer to the big lake. Tall pine tress, a few Oaks, and maple trees surround the place. Bring your mosquito repellant, as you are in the country! The place is raw right now, but I am planning improvements such as a few A frame cabins, a showering area and so on. So many things to do! StarDust Ranch & Resort

20 sites · RVs, Tents23 acres · Trinity, TX
22.5 acre property that we are building out RV and glamping spots at. Currently, under minor construction with water and electric available only in one location. So tent camping would be on your own and primative. You can fill up water and wash up type stuff with current water availabilty. You can charge things if necessary or if you bring yourself a 100ft extension cord you can have a powered tent spot within 100ft. The property is pretty cool actually, has a creek running through the entire property, plenty of dead wood for campfires (responsable fires). The property is inside of a gated community sometimes the gate is open with construction crews and sometimes it is closed and will need a code. The community that the property is inside of all of the lots are 20+ Acres each and there are not a ton of people that have actually moved out there yet. Keep in mind this is a developing Ranch Community so the roads are a bit JACKED UP at the moment to be honest, if you have a low slung car or a really nice car this spot may not be for you, SUV's Trucks, hell even Minivans probably will be just fine. There are tons of wild animals on the property from boars, deer, coyote, snakes, rabbits, turtles, big predator birds, and 2 mountain lions/cougars have been spotted on game cameras throughout the community. The entire community is over 10,000 acres.

Overview

About

Embark on a journey through time and nature on your next Davy Crockett National Forest camping expedition. This vast expanse, named in honor of the legendary frontiersman, sprawls across 160,000 acres of pristine East Texas woodlands, bubbling streams, and diverse wildlife habitats. Within Houston and Trinity counties, this forest stands as a testament to nature's untouched beauty and the history of the Neches and Trinity River basins. The Ratcliff Lake Recreation Area, a treat from the 1930s crafted by the Civilian Conservation Corps, encircles a serene 45-acre lake. Whether you're setting up camp, enjoying a picnic, taking a dip at the swimming beach, or fishing, the backdrop of the dense forest enhances every moment. For the avid hiker, the Four C National Recreation Trail is a dream come true. Stretching 20 miles, starting from Ratcliff Lake, this trail meanders through a mosaic of towering pines, hardwoods, and unique ecosystems. The Walnut Creek campsite, situated midway, provides a restful spot, while the Neches Bluff Overlook at the trail's end offers panoramic views of the Neches River's lush bottomlands. It's a foot-traveler's paradise, with parts of the trail even passing through the untouched Big Slough Wilderness Area. And equestrians are not left out—the Piney Creek Horse Trail offers over 50 miles of well-maintained trails. With two trailheads equipped with essential amenities, it's a horse rider's delight.
