Property straddles Hwy. 3 in between Etna and Callahan. Hwy. 3 is not busy during the day, and evenings traffic drops off to almost nothing. Very rural farming/ranching area. No agricultural, ranching or spraying nearby, though. There's lots of blue-green Serpentine stone here, hence the name "Rock Farm." We are an organic farm so we take care to use non toxic agriculture. Fresh spring water provided, we offer primitive camping and are developing some more luxurious sites. We're at 3000 feet elevation, so nights are cool even in the summer. Bright stars; We even have our own UFO. Air fresh and clean. Minimal mosquitos due to dry climate. Fresh Spring water available for free. We call it "RockFarm" because there's lots of Serpentine rock here and you're welcome to collect some. Even pan for gold in the Scott River nearby.

Farm encompasses a mature hardwood forest, large organic vegetable garden, pollinator gardens, plant nursery, fruit and nut trees and shrubs. A diverse population of wild birds visit and nest here, including our summer pond resident green heron. A creek with waterfall runs through the property. Cabin is on the edge of a tree-lined pond. Host will meet with you upon arrival to give overview of land layout. We live and work here, but will respect your privacy and space. We ask that you please do the same, which includes all the living inhabitants here. We are in farm country, so at times there may be tractors, manure spreading, mowing, etc. in nearby fields. There is a historic and active railroad line behind the cabin and you will hear the train pass through the day and night. Some people have found it cool or relaxing but others have not. Nestled on its own 4-acre parcel within our family's 12-acre plot, this cozy retreat offers a private driveway and setting for your getaway. New additions this year include a fire ring and porta-potty, adding to the complete experience of your stay. Just a mile down the road, you'll find access to Lake Erie, boasting a small beach and kayak slip. On clear nights, don't miss the opportunity to gaze at the stunning stars above. Your host, Brian, has infused the cabin with photography and treasures from his global journeys, adding a unique touch to your stay. The hosts philosophy is to not bother you at all during your stay unless you have a specific need or concern, so your stay is all yours. The price is kept low to reflect this a campsite rental, not a hosted Airbnb. With that said every effort is made to make things comfy. For your safety, please exercise caution when venturing into the woods and avoid approaching the active train tracks located at the back of the property. While the passing train adds to the rustic charm of the setting, it may NOT be suitable for light sleepers. Road traffic noise tends to calm down in quiet hours. Bed sleeps 2 but up to 3 welcome. Relax and enjoy a bit of rural life at our campsite overlooking farm fields and wooded hillsides. Our backyard is narrow, but long, so the campsite is approximately 100 yards away from the house, giving the guest privacy and a sense of solitude. The property enjoys plenty of sunshine all day long and beautiful sky views of the sunset and stars. We are located approximately 40 minutes away from Letchworth State Park, 15 minutes away from Six Flags Darien Lake Theme Park, and 20 minutes away from Batavia and Warsaw. Just a few minutes down the road in the village of Attica is a large park with a walking path, playground, splash park, dog park, basketball court, and shelters. The village also has three gas stations, a Tops grocery store, and several restaurants ranging from Burger King to the local golf course; feel free to ask us for other bar and restaurant suggestions! While staying on our property, you will be interacting with Stephen and Allison for your immediate needs. During the warm months, we spend a lot of time outside with our two little boys in the yard area immediately surrounding our house. You may also be visited by the school-aged neighborhood boys who won't cause any trouble but do like to chat! We provide four chairs, a fire ring, and firewood; there is no dedicated toilet, but there may be limited access to the bathroom in our house for a shower if we are at home and available. Please be aware, on the opposite side of the farm fields are other residential backyards.
