Grey Havens is waste wise: we expect guests to conserve water and minimize garbage waste. Our lakefront property has lots of water recreation possibilities: swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing. Free boat launch for your watercraft. Lots of County Forest and Bruce Trailhead hiking opportunities close by. We are on a small biologically special lake, the source of the Styx River, that promises quietly inspired surroundings. We especially encourage writers and readers that will also appreciate our Little Free Library and the small Libraries inside each accommodation. We have quiet, segregated spaces inside or outside for writing or reading. You can purchase works by the author/host onsite. But we are not just about books. Four seasons accommodation (Cost and availability may vary by season): +Double-occupancy lodging suite (in our Timber frame home) with Private bathroom/shower and 12'x12' raised deck Seasonal, June to October: +Double occupancy Log Cabin (16'x12') with covered porch and side patio +RV emergency overnight site with electrics and non-potable water hookup We do provide: +Patio/deck (20'x25') with fire circle and lots of locally sourced wood +Dock and canoe/kayak launch (bring your own canoes/kayaks) +Wireless access +Motorcycle parking pads for touring riders (and fully equipped shop) We don't provide: +Enclosed cooking spaces or meal-making/eating utensils New sites coming in 2025 Emergency Overnighters: Walk-in self-sufficient Tent sites with non-potable water available While Grey Havens was the final chapter in Tolkien's trilogy, we continue creating a paradise here.

We provide bedding, towels, soap, shampoo, pots, pans, kettle, cutlery, tabletop barbecue, a cooking grill, utensils, mugs, cups, drinking water and more. We require quiet after 9pm, and before 9am. No excessive substance use please. No substance use if you are going to swim. Private simple camping toilet/outhouse setup with view of nature. Water for washing hands. No shower. We moved here because we thought it was beautiful, and we hope to share that with others. We live here, and enjoy the water and land every day.
