Full RV hookups
Electrical, water, and sewage hookups are available at all sites.
Barriere Ridge Resort is a hidden gem. It is a private off-grid RV lot on the west side of East Barriere Lake, one of the warmest and cleanest lakes in BC. It is located off a Forest Service Road in the town of Barriere , which is only 45 minutes drive from Kamloops. Our RV Site is a large 1 acre lot fully serviced with water, electricity, and sewer and only 150 meters walk to the Lake! Unlike most RV site rentals where your neighbour is literally only steps away, your neighbour (if any) will be half an acre away! The lot is rectangular in shape, with the bottom half is levelled for RV use, and the upper half is a private forested area open for your exploration. The bottom space has water and electrical hookups only, while the top space includes water, electrical, and sewer hookups. *****AMENITIES***** - Water - Electricity - Private Sewer Hook-up - Use of private 4-man canoe, paddles, and life-jackets - Common boat trailer parking - Common beach access and picnic area *****RATES***** - 1 RV can accommodate 8 people, with extra fees for additional guests -The site can comfortably fit a second RV so great for a group stay. - $65-75 / night with minimum, depending on season, 5 nights stay for 1 RV (any length is fine) - Extra $12 / night for an additional RV. - Can accommodate max of 2 RVs only *****ABOUT EAST BARRIERE LAKE***** It is at 632 m in elevation one can enjoy the warm weather of the North Thompson. With surface temperatures reaching 27°C, the lake is perfect for swimming or any water sports. The lake is also up to 100 m deep, translating to excellent fishing during the summer. The lake has a surface area of 994 ha (2,456 acres) and is almost 15 km in length, which provides plenty of areas to remain uncrowded. *****RECREATION***** The Barriere Lakes (North, South, and East) hold some of the best trout fishing in this region. Trolling, fly fishing, and light spin casting for native Kamloops rainbow trout are all productive methods. The Lakes each personalize opportunities to enjoy paddling in calm waters, fishing, or drifting in a pontoon boat. Uncrowded East Barriere Lake is great for waterskiing, wakeboarding, and other watersports. Nearby, Dunn Lake is also long and deep, offering excellent fishing for rainbow trout, lake trout, bull trout, and Kokanee. There is good hunting for moose and deer from the property. *****DIRECTIONS***** Location: Russel Creek Forest Service Rd , Thompson-Nicola O, Canada 7540 Russel Creek Forest Service Road Drive Time to East Barriere Lake Kamloops 45 minutes Kelowna 2.5 hrs Vancouver 4 hrs Travel north or south to Barriere, BC via Highway 5. The view was spectacular at this site however, the drive in was a solid 45 minutes of rough roads not originally indicated upon booking. Second the site was over grown with weeds, uneven and the water tap supply was not turned on and the location was hidden due to the tall weeds. The neighbor found it for us. The dump station had a sealed cap on it if it were tent campers they are told to haul out their waste, there was human waste and toilet paper behind the site as no one will haul their human waste out from a personal port a potty. General waste the same, if a person doesn’t have room, they will dump it. The walk to the beach is very steep. Not suitable for people with limited walking abilities. The description needs to be a lot more detailed and clear before booking.

It is the worst experience to book Barriere Ridge RV with Hipcamp. It seems the App team didn't check the real situation before promoting it. The description is totally different. There was no one to receive us, no office, no facility. I have no idea how dare they charge 70CAD/night. It is far and not easy to approach to the lake , and there is only one spot for public to access the lake. The residential over there told us there were so many complaints about Barriere Ridge RV, I don't know why the review were showing differently. We reached late so have to stay one night, but left the second morning. We paid in advance for 4 nights, but could not bear the unpleasant place. We informed the host Mrs. Lou immediately on the second day morning as soon as we got mobile reception and request 3 nights refund. But nothing. Yes we lost more than 200 CAD for nothing but we were happy to leave that place right away. So, DON'T GO! I don't know who should be responsible for the fake advertising, the host or the Hipcamp, but DON'T GO! DON'T BE CHEATED!

This is a great spot in a fairly small lakeside resort for an RV or two. We loved the short walk to the beach and the nearby forest with trails for exploring. It’s a quiet and family friendly neighborhood about 45 mins-1 hour out of Barriere (slow going on dirt road for the RV) We wouldn’t want to do that road in an RV after major rain, but it was fine if we took it slow. The only comment is that we were told there was a septic hook up, we saw what appeared to be the hookup but we were not able to take off the cap. If it was somewhere else on the lot it should have been more clearly marked. Other than that the spot is as described and a great getaway on a beautiful, calm lake!
