In a cedar grove, nestled among the ferns, a lotus belle tent awaits you. A unique bed and breakfast in an off-grid tent. Inside the belle tent there is a comfortable double bed with clean sheets, plump pillows, and a warm Pendelton blanket. A 'west coast homestead basket' with granola, fruit ,and farm eggs is provided for a nutritious breakfast. A Berkey water filter provides delicious water from our mountain well. Inside the tent, a comfortable chair looks out over the mossy forest toward the creek. There is room to stretch, and a couple of yoga mats to use. A stretch is especially nice after exploring the nearby trails through Mount Maxwell forest. The trails take through a varied and fascinating forest. Along the way are mossy knolls with vistas of the valley, ocean, and Vancouver Island. One trail leads all the way to Burgyone Bay. The belle is an off-grid seasonal tent with electric candles for lighting and a composting toilet. At night there are solar string lights--should you want them--which illuminate the path to the tent. On clear nights, turn the lights off to star-gaze through the branches. This site is beautifully situated in a private cedar grove beside a seasonal stream. There is one main lotus belle tent with a double bed which accommodates two people. For parties of three or four, a second lotus belle tent is available at additional charge. There are two parking spots adjacent to Dale's cottage at the head of the trail which leads to the tents. To get there you cross small wooden bridge over a seasonal stream. This is an off-grid tent. At night, battery candles light the tent. Outside strings of solar lights can be turned on, or you can leave them off and enjoy the the night sky though the cedar branches. Inside the tent, delicious potable water from our well is on tap though a Berkley filter. Outside there is a hose tap. The compost toilet is in a private enclosure nearby. We will offer an on-site shower soon. In the meantime, great $3.00 showers are available at the Rainbow Road Pool which is open all day every day except Sunday.
