Fieldview is a really special place that we want to share with all of you- - we have organic kitchen gardens, fruit trees, unique buildings (a small cabin with a traditional Russian trimwork, aka "gingerbread house on steroids", a unique cordwood outhouse), an apiary and a friendly habitat for all living beings. We love nature and live a simple, minimalist lifestyle, growing our own food, caring for our Mother Earth and creating beautiful things that last. Located on a quarter acre of land, tucked into a corner of a hay field, surrounded by fields, forests, and hedgerows, there is a house, cabin, woodworking shop, and a few outbuildings. We have plenty of lawn space if you want to play ball or just lay on the grass! We have a fire-pit, a spot to spread a blanket under a big White Pine or relax in a hammock in the shade of the two Balsam firs. The campsite has an electrical cord available for you phone/computer charging needs. There is a kitchen table and a few chairs for you and your family to enjoy outdoor meals and drinks. We have just built a brand new composting toilet equipped with a little sink (we provide hand towels, toilet paper and soap) and outdoor shower with COLD running water. We are working on having hot water available - please be patient with us! We ask not to smoke on the property (no tobacco, cigarettes, marijuana or vaping), please go for a walk on the road if you need to have a smoke. Clean up and pack all your garbage. We have a very social outdoor cat that would likely spend days with you. He is very, very interested in food and can not control himself, just be aware that he might steal and chew through bags. We specifically provided a plastic bin for you to cat-proof all your food. PLEASE NOTE: There is an ongoing fire ban on Manitoulin Island - no open fires or fireworks. Camp stoves are allowed.Pitch your tent in a secluded spot on the edge of the 1/4 acre property, overlooking the fields and hedgerows. Surrounded by mature White Cedars and Balsam Firs, this sweet little spot offers fairy magic, coziness, some privacy and shade. Ground cover is a thick soft layer of cedar mulch.  Two lawn chairs and a table are there for your use. Located not far from the main house and a cabin, the campsite still offers considerable privacy. There is a small cabin nearby that sometimes have airB&B guests. The communal fire pit for the small evening fires is in the open, between the gardens and your campsite. Fire pit could sometimes be shared between owners and people staying at the cabin. The composting toilet is half a minute walk on the other side of the property. (Shared with airB&B) You'll have access to your own cloth line for drying your gear. Delicious well water is available at the garden tap. Electricity is available at your campsite through an extension cord. We have a slow-going construction project in the works on the property. There is a green metal buggy cart for you to haul you camping gear to the site - welcome to use it. We also provide a Rubbermaid storage container for your food. Our very social cat who lives outside will likely be very interested in your food so please make sure to pack away everything. The cat can open bags and help himself… World-famous Providence bay beach is a 20-minute drive, and a few locally-known swimming spots are within a 10-minute drive. Ask us about Manitoulin « must-see » map when you arrive. Please note, we ask you to pack away any of your garbage, unfortunately we do not provide any garbage disposal.

Whole-hearted recommendation
Tent
Anastasia and George were absolutely wonderful hosts. They have a beautiful homestead, and even generously gifted us a tomato from their garden and a few pieces of dry wood to get our fire started! Their land is magical, and well-loved. I had the best night of sleep ever. They provided suggestions about beautiful spots around the island that really made our trip special. I would whole-heartedly recommend their place!

The family was super friendly and the campsite was beautiful. We woke up surrounded by bird tweets. The surrounded trees gave also some shade. There was a power cable provided so we could charge all our electrical devices and the toilet cabin with sink and shower was clean. We enjoyed the evening with the family at the campfire a lot. Their cat and new dog were really cute and as animal lovers we loved to pet them the whole evening. The cat even came by for a little good morning visit. Anastasia also gave us a map and some recommendations what to see and to do at the island what helped us a lot as well. Thank you very much! We hope we'll be able to visit you again one day!

Private, quiet, and ideal
Tent
I had a great time here. The property was clean and well-tended, and the location was easy to find with Google maps. The actual campsite was close to their driveway and fire pit, but very sheltered and private. The ground was soft and easy to drive stakes into, and very easy on my tent. The washroom was clean and easy to use, and had zero smell! I didn't use the shower, but it was similarly well appointed. The water was clean and pure, and came out pretty quickly from a tap. The owners checked only during arrival and departure, and left me with privacy for the entirety of the middle. The exception was their lovely orange cat, who certainly met up with his reputation in the reviews. He was a lovely fellow! At one point he checked out my tent, and on both mornings he insisted on being present while I cooked. He's cuddly, playful, and a great purrer. Overall, with this being my first experience in camping with this app, I'm very satisfied. Fieldview was a delight to stay at, and I hope to someday return to explore Manitoulin Island some more.

We enjoyed our camping experience with Anastasia. This is a lovely site and the only one on her large property. It faces the most picturesque farmers field and old barn. On the other side is the family house, a separate cabin and a large yard with fire pit. Anastasia provides many facilities like electricity and wifi (although the wifi was maybe not as strong as it could have been). This site was very clean and well maintained. It was the perfect base to explore the many treasures on Manitoulin Island.

The site was generally well-described, and the hosts were accommodating and flexible with arrival times. They provided a map of interesting places on the island with great recommendations. They even lent us tools and helped solve our bike issues so we could get back on the road. The Cat is very friendly and cute but, as noted, he will try to steal your food! The tent space is private among the trees, offering a nice view of the land. There's a small Airbnb cabin on the property, so you might share the composting toilet and firepit space with another couple. The hosts are attuned to guests' preferences for socializing and adapt accordingly. Overall, this is a great place to stay if you're looking for a secluded home base on the island.

Anastasia and George's property was very beautiful and peaceful. They were very friendly and supportive. Facilities were as described, WiFi (though a bit patchy) was a welcome bonus. Lovely spot and people. Go there if you want quiet beauty, night skies, simple calm.
