Nestled on 11 hectares of private land just two hours from Melbourne, Wombat Gully Camp offers the untouched beauty of a national park—with one extraordinary difference: you’ll have it all to yourself!
THE LAND:
- A Wild Wonderland: Wander through bracken fields at the hilltop, where views stretch across the valley. Follow animal trails along the gully, past granite boulders, wombat burrows and hidden echidnas. Kangaroos graze in sun-dappled woodlands, and the Milky Way blazes overhead at night.
- Adventure Awaits: Cross the trickling stream and explore rugged gullies. Discover secret swimming spots at Gooram Falls (30 mins away).
YOUR STAY:
1/ Hike-In Camping: For solo adventurers or couples craving raw simplicity. Carry in your gear, choose your wild campsite, and fall asleep to the sounds of the bush.
2/ Tipi Hot Tent: New! Sleep in a cosy canvas tipi, a crackling wood stove, and the primal comfort of fire and shelter—all set up and waiting for you.
3/ Bushcraft Camping Experience: New! A hands-on adventure for beginners and enthusiasts. Test your skills with our self-guided bushcraft kit, including:
- Oilskin tarp, ropes, and stakes (with step-by-step setup instructions).
- Fire-starting tools and rustic cooking gear (wooden bowls, spoons, and mugs).
WHY WOMBAT GULLY CAMP?
- Wildlife Encounters: Wombats, echidnas, and kangaroos are your neighbours.
- Solitude Guaranteed: No crowds —just you and the bush.
- Adventure Meets Accessibility: Close enough to Melbourne, wild enough to feel worlds away.
NEED TO KNOW
- Leave No Trace: Use our Jimmy’s Thunderbox (a rustic dig-a-hole toilet) and take all your rubbish with you.
- Fire Safety: Fires are permitted March–October *only* in the designated pit—always check fire ban conditions.
NEARBY ADVENTURES:
- Euroa (30 mins): Dine at the Seven Creeks Hotel’s beer garden.
- Avenel (30 mins): Savor wood-fired pizzas at Bank Street Pizza.
- Gooram Falls: Swim in the rock pools.
Whether you’re here to hike, bushcraft, or glamp, Wombat Gully Camp is your gateway to wild freedom. An adventure (and wombats) await.
We had an awesome stay at wombat gully! The campsite was secluded with a lovely view, and Belinda was very helpful In replying to questions!
Would definitely recommend if you’re after an isolated feel, and a bit of adventure:)
