Situated approximately 1 hour north of Bordeaux Airport and 1 hour from the west coast resort of Royan. The village is one of the communes in the ”Haute Saintonge”, a former historical province that has many old churches and examples of Roman art. It is a land of plains and hillsides rich in agriculture, viticulture with windmills to be seen in many areas, in one of the sunniest regions of south west France. Bellevues Glamping is a stunning site of an acre, with breathtaking views across the valley, typically surrounded by grapevines and sunflower crops. There is a 10 metre x 5 metre in-ground swimming pool for the whole family to enjoy a swim, ideal to cool off on those hot days. Plenty of grass for the children to run around and enjoy games. Beautiful views from pitches of grapevines and rolling countryside. After dark, gaze at the starry skies and catch a glimpse of shooting stars.It is a magical spot that Richard and Linda fell in love with in 2021, having relocated to France in 2020. The campsite re-opened in May 2023, welcoming guests who have all expressed how wonderful the site is and that they will return. Come and enjoy camping in the countryside in the Creuse. Our campsite offers four glamping tents, one off grid tent and three places where you can camp with your own caravan, camper or tent. The grounds are 14 acres, largely consisting of field, wildflowers, fruit trees and vegetable garden. We have created walking paths all over the site and beautiful seating areas where you can enjoy the view. A lovely swimming pond, playing field and play barn provide entertainment for the whole family. For example, there is a football field, badminton field and table tennis. For the smaller children there is a swing and various push bikes. We organize cozy bbq and campfire evenings. There are sheep (behind the fence), chickens, two dogs and two cats on the property and of course a variety of wildlife.

Come and stay in a luxury 6 metre bell tent that sits in its own secluded field with a lovely view onto a rolling meadow. The valley is home to a wide variety of birds and butterflies, and deer come to drink at the spring in the meadow. Night skies are free of pollution, perfect for stargazing. It is a very tranquil special place, ideal for those wanting to get away from it all and be immersed in nature. It is a place for children to explore freely. There is an 11-metre swimming pool at our home for you to enjoy most of the day. The 6 metre bell tent is spacious and comfortable. There is a double bed and two singles, all with cotton sheets and throws. There is a chest and baskets to keep clothes, and children's games are provided. 360 degree mosquito netting around the tent makes it possible to open it for ventilation. Solar lighting and lanterns provide light. There is a pretty outdoor kitchen with a two ring gas stove for simple cooking. All crockery is provided. A barbeque and fridge are also available at a barn 2 minutes away where there is also washing up facilities. For dining, there is a wooden picnic table next to the tent, with a lovely view of the meadow. Your own private bathroom is 2 minutes walk away at the barn and has a shower, loo and washbasin. Towels, a hairdryer and toiletries are provided. All you need to do is turn up! There are lots of good walks and bike hire and horse riding are available nearby. In Laguepie, just 10 minutes drive, there is surveilled river swimming, and several restaurants and bars for dining. Half an hour's drive away is the pretty town of St Antonin, with kayaking down the Averyron Gorges, as well as a fantastic Sunday market. The area is rich in culture with the medieval town of Cordes-sur-Ciel just 10 minutes drive, and the city of Albi with its spectacular cathedral, a Unesco site, just 40 mins away. Albi is also home to the Toulouse Lautrec Museum and a lot of good restaurants. The Gaillac vineyards are a short drive and offer wine tastings and evening concerts. Summer is the time for festivals here, and there is usually some entertainment taking place in one of the nearby villages. The bell tent is available June, July and August for a minimum of 2 nights.
