JOINS! Glamping Aquitaine

5 units · Glamping2 acres · Aquitaine
SMALL SCALE – TRANQUILITY – FANTASTIC VIEW These are the key terms of our holiday park "JOINS! Glamping Aquitaine", in the heart of the Department of La Dordogne, France. Glamping is a form of camping, but at JOINS! it is GL – Grand Luxe: luxuriously enjoying your holiday. JOINS! offers a lot of privacy for our guests. A lot of privacy because on a recreation area of approx. 1 hectare only 5 luxury safari tents have been placed. The view from every tent is breathtaking. Of course there is a swimming pool and you will find all kinds of sports and game possibilities. We, Inge and Joost van der Sande, are always nearby or available for information, help or just for a chat.  On occasion we open our small bar; our guests can then meet each other and exchange information while enjoying a drink and a snack. THE SAFARI TENTS Our tents have a high level of comfort: Kitchen with dishwasher, induction hob, fridge freezer, microwave, "nespresso", blender and all kinds of kitchen appliances Wifi Dining area Sitting area Cutlery, plates, cups, cups, glasses, etc. for 8 people Bathroom with spacious shower cabin (rain shower), sink and toilet Bedroom with double bed Bedroom with single and bunk beds Terrace with bar and lounge set sunbeds Barbecue Picnic table Parasol JOINS! has been realized on former vineyards; Our tents therefore have the name of a grape variety: Chardonnay, Grenache, Merlot, Sancerre and Sauvignon. Tent Sauvignon is suitable for the disabled due to its location, accessibility and furnishings. THE SWIMMING POOL We have opted for a saltwater pool; this is more natural and comfortable than a pool with chlorine. Skin and eyes are not burdened with all kinds of chemicals. The salinity is significantly lower than in the sea. The pool is heated to be able to enjoy it in early and late season. At the pool there are plenty of sunbeds with parasols. The pool is fenced, so that small children cannot enter unaccompanied. THE SPORTS AND GAMES FACILITIES There is always something to do at our park, for young and old. A small list: Jeu-de-boule-court, football field, basketball, table tennis table, swings, playhouse, trampoline, crocket, badminton sets, and so on.

Glamping near La Rochelle with a private bathroom guide

Overview

Photo-worthy views, island escapes, and a rich maritime heritage put La Rochelle firmly on the map for travellers exploring France’s Atlantic Coast. Once you’ve strolled around the atmospheric Old Port with its trio of imposing mediaeval towers, hop aboard for a boat cruise around the nearby islands or visit favourites like La Rochelle Aquarium. As the capital of the Charente-Maritime region, La Rochelle makes a strategic base for campers, and the surrounding area is brimming with family-friendly campgrounds. Choose a 4-star campsite with a swimming pool and kids’ club, a mobile home rental, or a simple beachside campsite.

Where to go

Atlantic Coast

Miles of sandy beaches and windswept shores stretch south of La Rochelle, but the most popular destinations for a camping holiday are the three offshore islands. The Ile-de-Ré and the Ile d’Oléron can both be reached by bridge from the mainland, while boat cruises to the Ile d’Aix often include the famous Fort Boyard, marooned on its own isle. Bring your bike to explore the beaches, pine forests, and dunes.

Charente-Maritime

Don’t just stick to the coast—a road trip along the sunflower-lined country lanes of Charente-Maritime will take you to laid-back market towns and family-run wineries. Stop off at the historic riverport of Rochefort, the Roman ruins of Saintes, and the mediaeval Old Town of Cognac, where you can tour the esteemed Cognac distilleries and join locals for a traditional aperitif.

Marais Poitevin

North of La Rochelle, the wild wetlands and salt marshes of the Marais Poitevin Regional National Park mark the border of the Vendée. Explore the meandering waterways by boat or kayak, go bird-watching along the banks, or pitch your tent or park your caravan at a tranquil family campsite in the heart of nature.

When to go

Like most Atlantic Coast resort towns, La Rochelle fills up with vacationers in the summer months, when sunseekers head out to the beaches and surrounding islands. Plan your trip outside of July-August to avoid the biggest crowds—it’s often warm enough for swimming and water sports in June and September, too. Camping season runs from April through October, and many campgrounds close the rest of the year.
