2 nights at Riverside Restful Relaxing Campsite

Firstly I must say what a lovely person Andy is. A great host, so kind and friendly and couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a fantastic stay. The site is just beautiful! So peaceful and quiet, immaculately kept and all the creature comforts you could need. Super clean facilities and very well stocked. The fishing in the river that runs through the site was amazing! I caught 4 pike in just a few hours on simple jig head tactics. We had such a good time that we extended the stay by an extra 3 days!! Thank you Andy for your hospitality, absolutely first class and we can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Riverside Restful Relaxing Campsite

We really enjoyed our stay. Andy was very friendly and helpful, even to the point of rescuing us when our car broke down! Lovely riverside pitch where we saw lots of birds, including a kingfisher and a heron. Very peaceful, would definitely stay again.

2 nights at Meldon Lake and Woods Wild Camping

Planned to spend a week traveling from North Norfolk to Cornwall and decided to book this site as a stop over for one night to break up the journey. We never made it to Cornwall 😆 We were so blown away with this site and area we just kept booking extra nights and ended up staying here for five days, and then another night on our way home. It's access to one of the prettiest valleys in England is amazing, you are right in it. So much to discover between the viaduct and the Dam. Stunning fairy water pools tumbling down the moor. We had our cold water therapy, luckily in beautiful weather with spectator views everywhere, not many people to have to share it with. Peaceful stunning nature. Vibrant yellow April gorse. Wild Dartmoor ponies greeting us at the camp site whilst we were cooking over a wood firepit in the evenings. The sound of the streams to send you to sleep at night. We were so very fortunate to have this site to ourselves which gave us the very wild experience. We completely connected with nature. It felt like we had been to a rerteat for a week. It is a 2.5 mile walk/bike ride along the granite way to Oakhampton if you do need more provisions, we can recommend the butchers near the supermarkets. Lovely steaks to cook on your fire pit. There is also a swimming pool if you really feel you need a shower. Amongst other eateries and shops. We can not recomend this campsite enough. Enchanting. Track to it is very narrow would not recommend wide vehicles.

I had a great stay here (April 2025): friendly hosts, lots of space, quiet location and of course great views. The gas-powered shower was all I needed after a long day on the sea.

I loved the place, narrow going down the lane, but there's two large pitches near the top,we were very lucky to be there on our own & had fantastic weather, would go again & again.

Our stay in Bluebird exceeded our expectations! The bus is fantastic and an incredible first glamping experience for our 2year old & 6year old boys! The bus was clean, comfortable and unique and the outdoor space was lovely, the boys loved toasting marshmallows in the firepit. Becky and John were wonderful hosts, friendly and welcoming & it’s clear they have put a lot of love into the whole site. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quirky glamping experience with your family!

Shhhhhh, dont tell everyone, but this wild campsite is absolutely amazing. This is one of the best spots for feeling like you are wild camping. You can relax without worrying about being moved on. Worth every penny of £20 a night. It's one we would definitely come back too again. Walk from the small private campsite, past the lake, step over a little bridge to the left and you are in the most beautiful valley, an old quarry, babbling fairypools, Wild ponies, lambs everywhere. Stunning yellow gorse, fantastic views, a Dam, a viaduct. Firepit every evening whilst watching the stars over looking lake, and woods. Just go prepared. We Loved it.

The site was beautifully clean and well set up. Becky was so welcoming and helpful -she understood that my dog can be reactive and made sure we were able to be at a distance from other campers (he liked Becky!) There are plenty of water points, and dog bins. Shower and toilet facilities were very clean. .

Another fab, quiet couple of nights getting back to nature, it was pleasant to see the Ten Tors training happening. We had gorgeous weather, took a walk up the Dam and very much spent the rest of our time relaxing and cooking on the fire.

3 nights at Sweet Hill Farm

Sweet Hill Farm is a great little spot. The views are what really make this camping spot - waking up every morning to the sea, Portland Bill Lighthouse and the horses in the field. We stayed in our van so had all we needed, but the site has toilets (port-a-loos), water for drinking and washing up and new shower blocks. There is a food and drink hut that offers fresh coffee, baked goods and cakes too. Family fun, friendly and part of an equestrian farm, there's also lots of other lovely animals happy in their habitat. A great campsite and perfect base for exploring the area and the coastal walks on offer :).

What an absolute gem! 💎 The site is beautiful, only a short walk to Portland Light house via a costal walk. Staff were friendly and really helpful and so was the beautiful owners dog. Our plans were to venture out to watch the rugby, but the on site shop and everything we needed, and decided to stay on site and admire the view. Ee can’t wait to visit again with the kids ( lovely play area and animals to look at) Showers were perfect and HOT ! We think we have found our “go to” site, and can’t wait to come back ♥️

If you want real off grid wild camping this is the place. A beautiful location and superb countryside. It was cloudy when we stayed but I would imagine it would be perfect for dark skies and astrophotography We will definitely be back, thank you.

Me and my partner pitched our camper-van at Will & Catherine's despite it being off season and they were amazingly accommodating! We had the entire campsite to ourselves and watched both sunset and sunrise by the sea. Truly wonderful and wholesome experience :)

It offers 4 acres with facilities, 7 acres of wilderness, shower block, level pitches, picturesque river, children’s playground and has been rated AA 4 star gold pennant. Becky and John both love Cornwall and fell in love with the site as soon as they saw it and it provided the perfect opportunity for a new challenge. Having only recently taken over at Willow Valley in the Summer of 2024, there are always ongoing improvements being made so make sure you keep in touch. Any returning campers will be glad to know we aren’t changing the campsite itself though. Why would we when it is already so perfect!

A very warm welcome to our guests at Little Eden, a restful and relaxing, riverside campsite for tents and campervans with grass pitches. We’re in a great spot if you love fishing, kayaking, gorge walking, cycling, seasides, fossil hunting, wild swimming, fell running, bird watching, archaeology or even Viking history! We are 9 miles from the mystical Glastonbury Abbey and Tor and directly on a Sustrans 33 cycle path route. The River Brue runs alongside the campsite with damsel flies fluttering by and kingfishers darting back and forth. We are on the Somerset levels so the sunsets are amazing as well as night time stargazing. We have a private, wooden jetty where you can launch your own paddle board. It’s a perfect get away for campers and nature lovers. Bring your own raised BBQs and logs or buy firewood on site. A family run campsite around 30 miles south of Bristol on the banks of the River Brue, it has a relaxed vibe and we try to keep things simple and straight forward. It’s ideal for doing some day trips nearby, then lighting the BBQ and playing Frisbee (games box you are most welcome to use). Shower and toilet, drinking water, washing-up sink in garden kitchenette. Our big sister site is just 4 miles away, and the café bar at 'Wall Eden Farm' serves fantastic coffee, cake, and family-made Somerset cider. If looking for classic countryside pub meal The Duck at Burtle and The Bird at Westhay are local favourites, be sure to book! Burnham on Sea close by has great fish and chips, a sandy beach, a pier and promenade if you like salty fingers and sandy toes. As you'd expect from a site with such a name, there's a whole lot of space in which to relax and explore at 5 Acres, a large grassy site in the Somerset Levels. Kids and dogs are both welcome on site here, and there's plenty of scope for them to run about and play games safely away from barbecues and campfires (which are also permitted to keep you warm and fed in the evenings). Facilities on site include firepits, a toilet and shower block and outdoor sinks with mains water. Dogs must be kept on leads at all time. We class ourselves as a quite site so no amplified music. Mains hook ups are 6Amp max rated. Pitches are approximately 16m x 20m. The flag, firepit and pitch number line up in the centre of your pitch. The surrounding Somerset Levels aren’t just out in the sticks – they also produce them. Willow cane has been cultivated the traditional way in this part of the county for hundreds of years and can be seen growing within a mile of 5 Acres. The Levels are also a wildlife haven, making them an all-round top choice for country walks along the many trails nearby. And while this may be a rural retreat, it's also one that's easy to get to as it's just off the A378 (no winding country lanes to negotiate for this one…) Taunton town centre, with its wide range of shops and supermarkets, is a 15-minute drive away. The closest pub and coffee shop are five minutes away by road.
