The Loft Glamping & Camping

12 units · Motorhomes, Tents5 acres · Kinloss, Scotland
The Loft Glamping & Camping is situated at East Grange Farm, Kinloss, Moray. It 's a working farm that has evolved over the years to include Wigwam Glamping and Camping for campervans, motorhomes and tents. A number of the old farm buildings are also perfectly appointed as venue spaces for Weddings, Events and Workshops. The "wilderness" campsite offers pitches suitable for tents and small campervans whilst the Stackyard area is suitable for motorhomes and mega tents. All motorhome pitches have electrical hook-up and we have a good number of electric tent pitches. Unfortunately we do not take bookings for caravans. Onsite, we also have Original Wigwam cabins which are wooden camping cabins (Pods) that offer all year round protection against the elements. With heating, electricity, fridge, kettle and toasters. For those wanting a bit more luxury there are also ensuite Wigwam Cabins onsite with wood fired hot tubs. We welcome families, groups, well behaved dogs and do allow campfires outside the wigwams and at pitches and can provide fire hubs on the campsite (this must be pre-arranged). The Loft Glamping & Camping looks forward to welcoming you throughout the year!

Dog-friendly caravan parks near Ullapool guide

Overview

A gateway to the northwest Highlands and the Western Isles, the port village of Ullapool sits on the shores of Loch Broom on the west coast of Scotland and is a wonderful destination in itself. Ullapool is surrounded by natural beauty and offers opportunities for scenic walks along the rocky coast. More serious walkers and climbers can tackle the peaks of Stac Pollaidh, Cùl Mòr, Cùl Beag, and Suilven. The town lies along the popular North Coast 500 long-distance driving route but is well worth staying a while. Campers can choose from a well-appointed caravan park in town to pitching a tent on the shores of the Atlantic.

When to go

For enjoying long, sunny days outdoors, June through August is the best time to visit, despite the area getting busy with tourists driving the North Coast 500 route in the summer months. September is a good alternative for fewer crowds, while winter visitors will contend with cold conditions while enjoying crisp landscapes.

Know before you go

  • Some private sites are seasonal—check opening dates before travelling.
  • Ullapool weather is changeable, even in summer. Come prepared with warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear.
  • Small biting midges are a common summertime Highland nuisance. It’s a good idea to bring insect repellent on your camping trip.
  • There are no rail links to Ullapool, but bus services run from Inverness, which is linked by train to Edinburgh and beyond.
