If action-packed days on the North Devon coast and lazy barbecues at sunset with sea views sounds appealing, then Livit Glamping is for you. Set within the grounds of the ever-popular Westacott Farm Campsite, this exciting venture sees a clutch of bell tents pitched up in a private pocket of this 220-acre farm.

This is an activity glamping site with two options for glamping and even more options for activities, which means you can style your own stay in this enviable location. Choose a simple pre-pitched bell tent if you want to bring your own gear but don’t want the fuss of putting up a tent or opt for the Luxury Glamping experience if you want things even easier. Then, decide what it is you want to do while in Devon. If it’s surfing, paddleboarding, coasteering or pretty much anything in between, there’s a good chance Livit can organise it for you.

Kevin and Sarah run the show here and guests are in more than capable hands. You can book activities directly with them or hire boards and equipment to head off on your own adventures. The site has its own yoga dome too with instructors on hand to guide you through a class and space outside organised sessions for you to unfurl your mat and do your own thing. But everything is optional and whether you are looking to fill your days with activities or just sit outside your tent and read — Livit makes a scenic spot to do it.

Pitched high on a hillside with views to the sea, all bell tents are a five-metre model. The pre-pitched option comes with camp beds and carpets with camp chairs and a picnic table outside. Just be aware that you need to bring your own bedding and cooking equipment and to hire a pit if you want a campfire. If that’s too much like hard work, book a Luxury Glamping tent. These are pitched on their own decking and furnished with made-up king-sized beds. They each have a private kitchen shack, picnic bench and fire pit outside. Facilities for all glampers (hot showers, clean toilets and a washing area) are shared with the adjacent campsite a short walk away.

And there's a good reason that an established campsite is here. Less than half a mile from the sea and with views out to Lundy Island, you won't find a finer location on the Hartland Heritage Coast. It takes just 10 minutes to stroll from your bell tent to the South West Coast Path, where you can head in either direction to find some of the region's most beautiful beaches and settlements, whether it's the sparkling sands of Westward Ho! or the harbour village of Clovelly, so lovely that lovely is practically its name.
