Peregrine - Hand Built Treehouse
Positives:
- Friendly and helpful staff
- A beautiful setting
- A perhaps unique opportunity to have a nature reserve to yourself once it has closed to the public for the day
Negatives:
- The Peregrine treehouse is located only a short distance from one of the main footpaths. Therefore, from 9am to 5pm there is a steady stream of people gawping and taking photos of you. What’s more, whilst there are ‘Private’ signs on the perimeter, no-one pays any attention to them so lots of people come up to the treehouse and on a couple of occasions tried to enter the treehouse whilst we were inside. The lack of privacy is particularly problematic as the shower is outside. Unfortunately, it got so bad that we left a day early. The other treehouse appears to be much further away from the footpath so there may not be the same issue.
- There is a big gap between the front door and the frame which allowed numerous mice to enter during the night. Bring some rags to stuff into all the gaps.
- I originally made the booking in the wrong week. Even though I noticed and remedied the error immediately, I was charged a 50% cancellation fee to cancel and rebook. My fault, yes, but it’s still a little harsh and it meant that I paid £240/night. In fact, as we left a day early, it ended up costing £360/night.
- the Peregrine treehouse is supposed to be for up to 4 people. There were only 2 of us and we struggled as it’s very cramped. If you’re planning to accommodate 4 people then beware.

Absolutely amazing location, when the gates close and it’s all yours - is just wonderful!
The tree house was perfect for our needs, honestly just a brilliant experience.

A special and magical experience!
Staying in this beautiful little treehouse at The Blue Pool in Dorset was just about one of the most magical experiences we have ever had! Surrounded by woodland, animals (including visits from the local peacocks at night), nature and the most stunning scenery, we felt so privileged so stay here. We had out of hours access to the lake when everyone else had gone home (staff included) and spent evenings by ourselves watching the sunset over the glassy blue lake, cooking by the fire, cosying up in the comfy, and charming treehouse, watching the stars and enjoying every moment.
In the day between 10am -5:30pm the walks and pools are open to the public, but it never got too busy and you still feel very secluded and nice and private.
We also received quick replies from the team, and they were so happy and friendly and accommodating.
We couldn’t recommend this stay more, anyone who visits is in for such a treat!

What an experience! The photos and description don’t do this place justice, my family and I had the most amazing 2 night stay with memories made we shall never forget.
The treehouse itself is just perfect for a family, surprisingly spacious and well kitted out with all the essentials, we even braved the outdoor shower! But this spot is all about the location, the Blue Pool reserve is just stunning, great cafe and play area a bonus too. At dusk we sat around the pool watching for wildlife, lucked out with spotting an owl and some bats!
Highly recommend, thanks to all the staff who were all so friendly and welcoming too.

Nightjar- Private Treehouse Getaway
Stunning woodland heath stay
Almost don't want to leave a review, to keep this gem to ourselves! A gorgeous, simple, clean, warm little treehouse set privately in the most stunning woods. There is a small cafe and shop at the Nature Reserve, and the treehouse is only a 3 minute walk away but completely hidden and private. After hours there is time to explore the nature reserve, where deer and peacocks roam, and blue pool - you have it all to yourself (or shared only with visitors to the 1 other treehouse)! The loo and hot outdoor shower (another highlight!) is down a little path, but very close. We will definitely be back.
