Damson Field Rustic Camping is a small and peaceful pop-up site set in a 10-acre field in East Sussex countryside, overlooking Bodiam Castle and near the village of Ewhurst Green. The vibe here is very much all about nature, so you can camp among fruit trees and relish the wildlife and seclusion. If you take a stroll around the ancient orchard at sunset, you might be lucky enough to spot badgers, deer and pheasants, and after dark you can watch the stars glittering in the night sky. There are a handful of traditional pubs in Bodiam village (20 minutes’ walk, no need to take the car) if you feel like upping the pace. As this is wild camping, there is no electricity but separate portable toilets and a standpipe with fresh water are available. Showers are available for an extra charge. Kindling and firelighters are provided for a small charge, and you can borrow firepits on site. A few site rules: no ball games outside the designated play area, please, and noise is to be kept to an absolute minimum between 11pm and 8am to allow all guests to get a well-earned night’s sleep. The owners ask that you take all your rubbish home with you too.

Such a beautiful site - views out to the rolling Sussex downs. Terry and Nathan were brilliant, very helpful and friendly. We would definitely return. Nice pub with good food a 20 min walk away too. Whole area is super pretty.

Amazing view, awesome field.

Nathan and Terry welcomed us so warmly to their campsite that we felt like we were in the right place as soon as we had arrived. The view from pitching up on the field is honestly stunning, with the Bodiam castle in full view if you get the right spot. This was our maiden voyage in our van, so we had a few things to learn, but I am grateful that the campsite provided no problems at all, making our stay over the weekend very special. We will be returning to stay here again at some point, that's for sure!

We loved camping here! It's a great spot with views across the valley to Bodiam castle. Nicely spaced out pitches so we had our own space and no issues with other campers or anything like that. Everything was really straightforward with checking in and Terry was always on hand to help out if needed, but otherwise we were left to enjoy ourselves. We highly recommend, thanks!

Nathan and Terrys place is an absolute gem! They are both such nice people and made us feel very welcome on the land. The view is gorgeous and you have everything you need there for a very comfortable stay!
